FM14 won't update from beta to final

Steps to take to make sure your Football Manager 2014 updates to the final version.

FM14 Beta will stop working at 4pm (GMT) today (5 November). If you're yet to update to the full game, the instructions are below:

Use your final code

This is the most common reason why your beta won't update to final. People forget they need to enter their final code on Steam. If you bought from us, chances are the final code should be in the same email with your beta code.

Let's take all possible cases.

How to use your code:
The process is the same for all cases:
1. Open Steam client and Go to '+ADD A GAME' at the bottom-left of the window
2. Then select 'Activate a product on Steam'
3. Enter your activation Code and your game should start downloading

Steam purchases
If you've pre-purchased directly from Steam store, just restart your Steam client and your update should begin automatically.

Boxed copies
If you've purchased a boxed copy, please enter code from the back of the in-box manual into your Steam client.

Digital purchases – no previous beta access
Just enter the one code you get into your Steam client.

Digital purchases – previous beta access
If you pre-ordered the game digitally, you should have been sent TWO codes. One for beta access, one for full game access. Some retailers have not sent out emails with the second code, and they can be found in your account section at that retailers website – if there is no such code, please get in touch with your retailer to request it.

I've entered the final code but my game didn't update

So assuming you've already used the final code and your game didn't update to final version, this is what you can do:
  • Close FM14 if it's already running and re-open.
  • If it doesn't update on launch, restart Steam and your computer.
  • If that still doesn't work, verify your game cache twice as shown below:
- Load Steam
- From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
- Select the Local files tab and click the 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAMECACHE...' button.
- Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
- Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
- We recommend verifying your cache twice to make sure all files are fully downloaded



Beta version will still not update to Full Version

If you're certain you've entered the correct final code (and if you've got a boxed version you've entered the code off the back of the manual) and your game hasn't updated, please try the following:

- Completely exit from the Steam client.
- Go to C:\Program Files\Steam (or the Steam directory that was specified during installation).
- Locate ClientRegistry.blob and rename this file to ClientRegistryOld.blob.
- Restart Steam to allow the file to be recreated.
- Launch game

Don't wok for me. I have uninstall and reinstall the game too, but nothing more 14.1.1

i have bought it over FMSCOUT NEXWAY as pre-order with beta version, i have received Final Activation Code as well but it doesn't work on steam, i am getting a warning over Steam ''Sorry but following items are not available for purchase in this country, your purchase has been cancelled" , I'm from Turkey, and right now i have 14.1.1 version, i have done with all you said above and nothing happened, Best, B.
I have a solution maybe you can try. Ask to a friend who have the game in 14.2.1. He pass you his account, you connect with it, Steam update the game. Close reconnect with your and play ;-)
It's juste a suggestion, because i don't have a friend for test^^ My only friends have the same problem from france.

I'll repeat: You need to use the activation code you have for the final version

No matter how many times you try the other steps, if you don't actually enter the proper activation code for the final version, it's not going to update to 14.1.2.



@berkinmarangoz59: Check our FM14 product page. Turkey has a special reference link due to regional restriction from SEGA. You need to buy the game using that special link.
Beta worked because it was region free, but this is not the case with the final version.

2 possibilities now:
- Use a proxy to unlock the game with the final key you already have
- Cancel your order and make a new one with proper Turkey reference

If you want to use a proxy, I recommend Proxy Nova.
If you need to cancel your order, please use customer service contact form.
Just mention what the problem is. I've talked with Nexway people and they'll do refunds for this situation even if it's more than 7 days after purchase.

----if you purchased the game through a third party like greemangaming then go on the website and you should find your second key in your games section and you add it to steam as if it you were activating a new game. hope it helps
Thank you so much, i have just contacted Customer Service of Nexway to get refunded or get new activation code or discount code, because i paid 0.10£ less than actual Turkey fee. i will let you know about the result here, it may help people here who have the same situation.
gamekeystore.net say to me, there's only one serial for the retail game. Not 2.
When i bought the key the 29/10/2013, i received directly my key, i activated it in 14.1.1, no update possible after that with steam. I try your tutorial... but nothing!

4 french friends have the same problem (1 key), but not from gamekeystore.net. So.. France have the same probleme like Turkey ? Or other ?
We have bought the game and we want to play it like other person.
----well for those who bought the game from greenmangaming then go on their website and you should find your second key in your games section and you add it to steam as if it you were activating a new game. That's what i done and it worked i found 2 keys, the first one which i have already activated for the beta version and the second one for the actual game.

Just make a complain to Nexway Customer Service a while ago..
hopefully they can reply back fast coz by the 4th November the beta will be done for.

Same with you, from malaysia, after purchased fm2014 then only realized there is country restriction...

I did get a final activation code with my email, but where do I enter that code to get it to update from Beta 14.1.1 to Final version 14.1.2?
