Arsene Wenger leaves Arsenal

Today there is a sad departure of Arsene Wenger as he leaves Arsenal to go and spend time with his family. After a long time without winning a trophy he said 'I have not won a trophy and now I am ready to step down. I have had a great career at Arsenal and I hope my successor will win trophies. It is a sad moment but I believe it is the right decision.'

This has come as a great shock to the footballing world as Arsene Wenger had been manager of Arsenal for such a long time. Who knows who will replace him. It is a sad day but could this lead to Arsenal winning their first trophy in years.

Arsenal Bring In New Faces and Sell Useless Players

Gerald Thompson (The New Manager)

Gerald Thompson has been appointed as the successor of Arsene Wenger. No-one knows who he is but he apparently has a lot of promise. He played Sunday-League football and at the age of 25 becomes one of the youngest ever Barclays Premier League managers. He said 'I am looking forward to managing Arsenal and hopefully I will success Wenger and win many trophies.' This is another shock to the world as no-one apart from the board knows of him.

Stefan Kiessling

Arsenal have brought in a much needed striker as they only have Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner. He signed for £12.5m and looks like he could be a very important signing for Arsenal as they look for success.

Ashley Williams

A new defender has been brought in by the new manager for £6m from Swansea. After an amazing season and Vermaelen not looking too great for Arsenal as he is out with an injury it was important Arsenal brought in a strong and commanding central defender.

Mohamed Diame

The midfielder has been brought in to try and improve their defensive line. Even though he looks to be a back-up player it adds more depth to the Arsenal squad as they look to win trophies this season.

Departures

The unwanted Park Chu-Yong has gone on loan to Feyenoord. He was an unwanted player and will not be missed. Emmanuel Frimpong has gone to Hull for £550k and this departure was felt needed by the supporters. Young players; Hector Bellerin, Jon Toral, Daniel Boateng and Kristoffer Olsson have all gone on loan to try and gain some experience.
