Welcome to my brand new story. I hope you enjoy this as much as I will. My first time within the community and also only my second time playing the FM series. The first being last years edition.
For this story I have decided to take the helm of one of the most ambitious clubs in England that just cant seem to walk the walk in terms of results for a lengthy period of time. I am a big supporter of Glasgow Celtic, but in England I have a hidden love for this beautiful London club. I want them to do well...and this is what I plan to do to achieve success...

Season 13/14 Goals:
•Qualify for the Champions League via Top 4 finish.
•Reach the Euro Cup Final
•Keep a solid defence throughout the year
•Spend transfer budget wisely

Overall Goals:
•Turn Spurs into a major title challenging force within England
•Increase the clubs reputation
•Keep the core of the current team for the distant future
•Use an attacking, but possessive philosophy

Can Tottenham Hotspur succeed in upsetting the odds? There is only one way to find out!
Welcome to the community and good luck with the story.-

Will be following Christian Eriksen :)
Good Luck. Spurs are really fun to do a story with! :)
Great start so far and welcome! :D

New Tottenham Hotspur boss David Smith is said to be keeping the backroom staff previously arranged by Andre Villas Boas intact. David was quoted saying The system in place is built for the future and that is where it will lead. Fans believe in a Champions League qualifying place and that is where we plan to be."

Asked if the sale of fan favourite Gareth Bale will hinder the challenge. Smith responded: No, I don't think so...Gareth is a top class player and losing someone of his talent is tough. But that is football and we have done well in our transfer saga so far. We must build a team and not just one player. We have room for one or two additions."

Tottenham are said to be looking to strengthen their defence and rumour has it they are looking into the possibility of signing Shalke 04's Greek prodigy Kyriakos Papadopoulos in a £10m+ Offer

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/thCARRHOWC_zps483a771a.jpg
Shalke will be asking for around 10-15m rumours suggest

Also being scouted by Head of Development Franco Baldini is Chelsea young striker Romelu Lukaku who is currently on loan for the whole season at Everton. But a bid at this stage is unlikely due to the high potential price. Can a deal be done? It's too soon to say but high interest in future English left back starlet Danny Rose could push Smith into searching for a replacement.

Romelu Lukaku is on the Spurs radar

That is all the news we have so far. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates.

Thank you everyone! I'm sure this is going to be great fun and look forward to this challenging season ahead.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos Signs for Tottenham Hotspur!

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/thCAX8780R_zps88bd852b.jpg
Smith's first venture into the transfer market
“I look forward to playing in the English Premier League” the Greek said at the unveiling.
Smith is happy to get his man “This is definitely one for the future”.

In an incredible swoop that sees Tottenham spend over £100m this summer. Smith has landed the Greek defender from Schalke for approximately £12.25m. Raising to 13.5m.. The contract signed is for a sum of £40,000 a week until 2017. The 21 year old will be loaned back to Schalke until the end of the season. With the likes of Dawson, Kaboul, new Romanian Chiriches and Vertonghen all fighting for a place in the central defence, competition is tough and Papadopoulos will benefit greatly from an extra year in German football

Tied to his contract will be a Minimum Release Fee for £44.000.000

Romelu Lukaku has also pledged his future to Chelsea by signing a new contract amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Lukaku had said in an interview with the BBC sport team “It would take a very good offer for me to consider moving to a rival such as Tottenham. Right now my future is at Chelsea”

Spurs misfit Adebayor has accepted a loan move to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season, With the Germans having the option to buy him for £7m

Adebayor was branded lazy by the Spurs fans

Kyle Naughton has left the club in a 3m & 50% Next sale clause for West Brom

The start of the season is about to be underway and Smith feels the team are ready for the first fixture against Welsh outfit Cardiff City in what is going to be an interesting opening game for Spurs fans getting to see an incredible amount of new signings.
That's not how you spell inspirational :P
Transfer Deadline Day

Dortmund sign Lewis Holtby from Spurs for £18m. Smith says Holtby is welcome back to Tottenham in the future if it ever comes around.

Smith has reinvested the money from the sale and splashed £16m on Real Madrid wonderkid Morata. The need for a third competitive striker was important to the club. Recent business between Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur made for easier leeway in talks as their strong affiliation continues.
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/Morata_zpsb0ded8c2.pnghttp://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/Morata1_zps76c70da6.jpg

Tottenham target Martinez of River Plate rejected contract offers and Fabio Coentrao chose Juventus over Spurs.
So now two Tottenham manger's have gone for Morata ?!! Good start !
I'm now in January and the season isn't going as I planned, I am sitting in joint 5th with 2 other clubs. Some players are performing magnificently and some players did awful (surprising change to my fm13 Tottenham save)

So I took matters into my own hands and shuffled out the bad.

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/AaronLennon_zps5dbb7662.jpg
The first to go is Aaron Lennon: To Man Utd for £19Million. Unfortunately his place in the pecking order is way down thanks to Lamela, Townsend, Chadli. Decent player but not worth keeping on the wage bill when the 19million can go towards strengthening other areas.

The next on the leave is Gylfi Sigurdsson Which is a shame for me as on fm13 he turned into my best player for a good 4 years. This year he is just wasting too many chances shooting from the wings, the halfway line and missing them all badly, A few goals but not enough and he doesn't know how to pass in this version at all
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/Sigurdssontottenham_zpsa82f9ce6.png
So he sold to AC Milan for £12 Million.
Its not much as I wanted but he was too much of a liability and was making me lose games on his own

Incoming:
Andre Ayew - £12 Million from Marsaille.
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/Ayew_zpsec29e155.png
The pacy winger will prove perfect for the left wing as Chadli seems to be falling short of expectations and is bought with the same money I got from the Gylfi sale

Also on my Radar are Hernanes of Lazio, Shaquiri of Bayern and Baines of Everton.
I have 4 days of transfer window left.
PS Morata is starting to find his feet, Defoe isn't doing so well. Lamela is hit or miss right now, Erikson is fantastic. Sandro is getting the highest ratings. Danny Rose is flourishing and Soldado is a great frontman. Chirches is my best defender of the season so far. I cant wait for Papadopoulos to be here at the end of the season...We need him

Hernanes Signs for Tottenham Hotspur!
£15.000.000! Deadline Day Transfer

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/Hernanes_zps0056debe.pnghttp://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e68/Detrucci/Hernanes2_zps2ac16b8d.jpg
A Transfer Deadline Last Minute capture by Smith sees Brazilian playmaker Hernanes sign from Lazio to bolster the midfield.
With a wealth of creativity including Erikson, Lamela, Ayew, Paulinho. Hernanes will be joining the list. That's now 3 Brailian Midfielders in the Spurs midfield.

Can Hernanes be the catalyst to Spur the Spurs onto a secure and respectable league position.

Edit: Hernanes Debut is a 3-1 Win over league rivals Liverpool
With Hernanes taking the place over a tired Erikson in the starting lineup.
Townsend, Paulinho and Morata all making an appearance from the substitute bench.
Morata and Defoe both made the score sheet today.

Tottenhams other January signing Andre Ayew steals the show with a 9.1 Rating. The second half of the season sure is going to be interesting.
My results since January 1st and the arrival of Ayew (this guy is a legend and helped me just win the Capital One Cup which is my Boards objective complete of Qualifying for the Euro Cup) Notice my League position also with 1 game in hand.
Things are going fantastic and Erikson/Hernandes is an excellent partnership! Lamela is injured for the past few games so Townsend has been stepping up to the plate

Great story so far, Ayew will be a good player for you!
