After taking over at the helm of promising Southampton, I find myself qualified for the champions league after a great first season finishing 3rd.
Top scorers in the league, however, only the 3 relegated teams conceded more.
Southampton have a great squad to encorporate the 4 2 3 1 formation, I added Honda to the squad on a free transfer in January.
With a small budget at the start of the season I made no real signings, i signed Ravelleire as back up for my wing backs.
My biggest fault was not suring up the centre back positions, Lovren is class but Fonte and Moshida are average, hence the 4th worst goals conceded stat.
Lambert was very effective in an attacking midfield role with Lallana and Rodriguez/ Prowse- Jones either side and Ramirez up front. I tried to use my prospects as much as I could in order for them to become more accomplished for the second year charge I had predicted.
Lambert broke his ankle and was out for 2 months around the same time Honda arrived and slipped straight into the team as his replacement. At this point I was forced to use the useless Osvaldo up front and Ramirez as an attacking midfielder. Rodriguez form had dipped and I found myself playing Prowse-Jones a lot more.
Luke Shaw at lb and Clyne at rb guarantees gut busting runs to the bye-lines and pace to get back and defend. Great prospects who should always be starting.
Wanyama and Schniederlin are just a match made in heaven at cm. One being BWM and the other BBM

With the new season on the Horizon I have been given 40mil to spend plus the funds received for Osvaldo who I sold for about 11mil.
Andre Schurrle and Negredo have been snapped up for season long loans which gives me great options up front with Lambert also ageing.
I also acquired Afellay on a free who will be good for the squad rotation required with the ever demanding fixture list of the champo league. I have bought Astori and papastahopoulos two decent centre backs. I also signed Tom Ince to keep my English players above the cut. My deal for Willian fell through as he failed to obtain a work permit. The Southampton youth team is peppered with prospects so I will be using these in my first team as back up to gain experience.
Wish me luck!!!
