Currently trying my damnedest to get Jack Wilshere on a free transfer. he's been on a non-contract for 7 months. Arsenal are happy to let him go for nothing, and he keeps rejecting theirs, and my, contract offers. he only plays in the reserves still at 20, says he is considering his options. but he just won't leave the club (which should change his opinion of joining my euro-chasing Leeds side). anyone else have similar problems getting players you want?

I also trying to get him for my peterborough team. but he does not want to come to my team. if you want to buy a winger for you team, i suggest you but james milner from a.villa. he can play for wing.
I once tried to sign a full back who had previously been on £250 p/w for my Stevenage side for £500 p/w, as he was young and clearly good enough for BSP. He declined ,had no other interested teams and retired a year later just before he disappeared from my shortlist. So yes, I agree.
He might not leave because Arsenal is a more known and sucessfull club? and he proberly believes that hes career could become better if he stays there.

then why won't he sign a contract with them either? either that or leave on a bosman. i don't know any examples of players refusing to sign a new contract with their club, but staying there on nothing and refusing to move on.
i managed to get him to join ajax from arsenal on a free... I then moved to liverpool after 5 seasons and bought him again for 14mil.. he is now starting to find his feet in my liverpool team and scoring a few games.. I am just waiting for gerrard to retire so he can get more starts!
