Hi guys, this is the first football manager I've had and I've been playing for a few weeks now, but I'm pretty bad at it. I used to pay LMA manager on the PS2, which I was great at, but I've realised how much harder FM is and I need some help.
I've tried playing with a couple of different teams, I started with Liverpool and did poorly, and I'm now having my second attempt with my hometown of Maidenhead in the Skrill South, and once again I'm doing really badly, sitting second from bottom at the end of January and on a terrible run of form. I didn't have the best of starts, but changed a few things by going more attacking and had a decent run of results by winning 6 on the trot but then results started going against me again and I have one win and two draws since - which happened without me changing anything from the good run of form I was on.
I've attempted changing tactics, roles and training, going more defensive, changed formations, rotated the squad, changing back to the tactics which gave me the 6 consecutive wins, but I can't seem to get anything out of my team, especially up front (we've scored 5 goals in the last 15 games). My players just aren't playing well, I have no transfer or wage budget to work with and my chairman won't budge, however it's not that my players aren't good enough for the league so I should be able to do well with the squad I have.
If anyone had any advice I'd hugely appreciate it, I want to play the game but it's difficult to enjoy when I can't buy a win, thanks in advance.
