"Tottenham, title contenders? Pfft." Arsene Wenger Sets off the War of Words!

Long serving Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, has slammed Totteham Hotspur, after they spended big in the transfer market. Arsene stated that the team played negative football, and would struggle to live up to the high expectations as many feel that this Tottenham team may have the quality to break through into the top four.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho however defended former staff member Andre Villas Boas, stating that he was a more capable manager that Arsene Wenger. As well as this, he stated that Arsene should focus on his own team, and his concerns rather than those of Tottenham's.

Many are surprised by this reaction from Jose Mourinho, defending Chelsea's London rivals. However, this act may be trying to unsettle title contenders Arsenal, and mean that Jose, will produce even more silverware. Arsene will be more than aware of Jose's mind game antics, from his previous spell with Chelsea

Following, the Premier Leagues so called "War of Words", rumor is that many of the clubs have shortlisted many players, as possible targets. Here comes live coverage, following the rumors from the top 6 clubs.

Arsenal:
According to the Telegraph, French International Hatem Ben Arfa is being closely monitored by Arsenal. Although Newcastle's steep 20 million pound may potentially stop this purchase, Arsene is keen on buying the world class French Winger.
As well as this, also playing on the wings, Roma's, Bosnian International Miralem Pjani? has been heavily linked with Arsenal. At the age of 23, the youngster has already become a regular in the Roma side, and at a fee of 10 million pounds, Arsene may be tempted to buy the Bosnian.

Chelsea:

Liverpool:
Liverpool are considering to make a bid for Ivorian defensive midfielder Cheick Tiote for a fee of 9.5 million pounds. With many teams attempting to buy Lucas, Brendan Rodgers sees Tiote as an ideal replacement for the influential midfielder. As well as this, Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Nemanja Matic, who is currently considered to be one of the hottest midfield prospects in the world. Benfica are reportedly looking for a fee of 10 million pounds for they key midfielder.

Manchester City
Manchester City are considering to make a bid for Griezzman, the French under-21 international. The winger, who can operate on both flanks, has been touted as the next Ribery.

Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham have reportedly bided for Welsh prospect Ben Davies, who is currently playing at Swansea. Villas Boas, see's Davies as a great prospect, one who can solve his desperate need for a new Full back

Tottenham have also pursued interest in Greek striker Kostas Mitroglou. The Greek striker is highly rated by scouts, and a release clause of just 6.75 million pounds may tempt Villas Boas to bid for the Greek International.
