Virus/ malware installed at the same time as genie scout

I just installed geniescout using the download link on this website.

A few minutes later I found that I had several virus/malware programs installed:

The following programs were all in my recently installed programs list:

Show-Password
PC Speed Maximiser v3.2
FilesFrog Update Checker

I hadn't knowingly agreed to install any of these programs. I am assuming that they were either installed alongside geniescout, or relate to some kind of dodgy ad in the app.

You might get an offer to install a free program or a browser toolbar. You can choose to Accept or Decline/Skip the offer.
Important: Unticking checkboxes on the offer screen is only for disabling an offer's extra options. If you don't want the offer, you need to hit the Decline or the Skip button!
