Liga Adelante side Barcelona B have terminated the contract of their coach, Eusebio Sacristán, after a board meeting held last night in which the Spaniard told the directors and Chairman of his disappointment over his captain Ilie's recent behaviour.

The board had a tough decision to make - sell Ilie, or sack Eusebio? Both of them were called into the meeting and Ilie denied the claims that he was causing tension, leading the board to question the rest of the team about his attitude.

Eusebio was given the chance to explain but refused, telling the board that he would feel very uncomfortable returning to coach the side and accusing the team of forcing him out before leaving. This comes as a huge surprise to many fans after Eusebio had been at the club for two years, having taken over from previous manager Luis Enrique, who joined Liga BBVA side Celta Vigo.

Ilie took to social media site Twitter to express his disgust at Eusebio's underhand tactics and laughed off the accusations made by the boss.

Good luck w. this, Adam!

^ Dat support. Some great writing mate, and hopefully, Ilie will be a beast (he got his manager sacked XD). Hopefully you'll pull a Pep, or a Tim Sherwood ;)

After disgraced manager Eusebio Sacristán was sacked by Barcelona B last week, the board have taken action very quickly regarding the next manager at the club and have appointed a Barcelona legend - ex-Portuguese international Deco.

Barcelona B have been famous for producing some talented managers in the past, the best example being Pep Guardiola who made a massive step up to manage the main Barcelona side in 2008. He stayed there for four years before taking the helm at German giants Bayern Munich. He has been recognized for his successes. Could the same fate befall Deco? He has told us of his future plans in management in our exclusive interview with him below.

MARCA: Good morning. How does it feel to be here at Barcelona B, not only because it is your first job in management, but also because you are here, back at your old club?

Deco: Morning. It feels fantastic, it really does. I cannot be more grateful to the board and I make a promise to them and the fans (including Barcelona's) here that I will do my utmost to not only ensure we perform in the league, but I want to continue to develop the future of Barcelona here. That is one of the main reasons I am here, to be honest with you, I am really excited about the opportunity I will get with all the youngsters who are in need of experience to challenge in the Barcelona squad in the future.

MARCA: So, by the sound of it, you are going to be operating a young squad here, is there any particular policies you may have regarding the signings of any older players?

Deco: Yes. Definitely. I see this as a development squad, and my policy will be to sign players that are 23 years old or younger. The only exception to this will be if a Barcelona veteran, who has really made a name for himself at the club, is not getting game time and then I will draft him in. But as I said, that is the only exception.

MARCA: And finally, we have seen the likes of Pep Guardiola have success after managing this team, do you see yourself going the same way or will you be here to stay?

Deco: Well, if I do have success here and a big team is in for me, then I think I would be foolish to turn them down, but for now my record is blank here and I am here to stay until a big team comes in. Who knows, I could even turn them down, but we will just have to wait and see.

MARCA: Thanks for your time, and good luck.

Deco: Thank you.

Grimaldo moved to Barcelona B

Promising Spanish left back Álex Grimaldo has been moved from Barcelona U19's to the Barcelona B squad until further notice. New manager Deco requested that were to happen after recognizing the players' potential. The 17 year old has already made one appearance for Spain U21's, an achievement that deserves a lot of credit to the youngster, as there is so much competition for a place. The Spaniard is currently carrying an injury which could have halted his progress. 7 months ago, he damaged his cruciate ligaments and has been sidelined ever since. It is thought that Deco will feature him heavily in the side when he returns in a few weeks, but he will have to keep an eye on his progress and hope that the injury hasn't ruined his career. He will miss out the first few games of the season.
Great start already, keep it up!
Good start, hoping his injury doesn't affect his playing ability. Nice update :)
