Can not join online game?

I'm having trouble with joining my friend's game server. When I click on join game, it just says "joining online game", and after a while, it just returns to the main (join online game) screen. I've already tried changing the region in steam, and it's the same as my friend's now, but it didn't work. Any suggestions?
