I have a career ongoing at the minute with Bodo Glimt in Norway and I am looking at starting a Youtube Channel to document my Football Manager careers, and I fear if I do not do it now I have some spare time I will never do it. I was just wondering if anyone could spare a moment to offer some advice? Basically if there is any free software I can use, or what you would recommend to get me started recording, microphone etc I need. Basically, all the basics to start. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Paul
Hello NuFCPro, welcome to the site :)

Making youtube videos to document your football manager careers is fun and quite easy to do once you get the hang of it. When recording, keep calm, relax and just have fun. You don't have to make up stuff to try and interest people, do what you want to do, speak about what you want to speak about and just be fluent and you'll be fine :)

Here are some free programs that can be used to record your screen:

Camstudio
Bandicam
Ezvid
Screencast-o-matic

Any of these would work but free screen recorders have limited time to which you can record, which is usually 10 minutes. I've made youtube videos before and I used bandicam. If you want to see some examples of youtube stories check out http://www.youtube.com/user/FMScoutTV?feature=watch this is the websites youtube channel which has quite a few stories on it.

If you need anything else, feel free to send me a private message :)
Fraps is the easiest to use. It's the editing software you should worry about. You can get them free off of certain sites. I recommend Sony Vegas, Final Cut Pro or Windows Movie Maker.
Thanks for the help guys really appreciate it. I have started but I cannot get my voice loud enough I don't know if this is my mic because all my volumes are set to high driving me mad! its only a fairly basic mic but you would think it could go louder than it is you cannot hear anything I am saying. any tips?
Well if you check the settings of your recording software, try and find something related to the issue and if the mic is the problem then it's best you just purchase a new one.
