Pre-Season – 2013/2014

Pre season is now over and the new league campaign is about to start on Saturday. Here are my results through pre-season NOTE: I did give the role as manager to my assistant for the first three of the games.

Guys, look at the team I had to put out because most of my players were on international duty, but the lads done well, it was unlucky to lose in the 89th minute.

Verdict

Pre-Season went quite well. A couple of games that we should have been winning, but I was experimenting with what I had, tying to figure out the best 11, the best formation etc... But we got some good wins, and playing some great football. The PSG game was very unlucky as I played 8 U21’s, and we only lost to a 89th minute winner. But the lads seem ready to go, with the opener VS Cardiff.

Player of pre-season

It was a hard choice for my best player during pre-season, with Eden Hazard, Ramires, Pepe, Petr Cech and Samuel Eto’o all having great pre-season. But it has to go to Eden Hazard. He grabbed a few assists, also netting three goals. He showed me why he deserves to be in my starting XI. He played brilliantly, taking on full backs, and centre backs with ease. He was brilliant.

Great signings! Especially Shaqiri You played well in pre-season games and I think you'll have very nice start of the season.

Chelsea Draw Athletico Madrid

Chelsea have been drawn against Spanish giants Athletico Madrid. Athletico haven’t been up to standards this season as they find themselves last in the Liga BBVA. Star man Diego Costa has been subject to interest from the London club, but a bid was rejected by the club.

Chelsea on the other hand, are sitting in fifth place in the Barclays Premier League. They haven’t had the greatest start to the season, being bet my Aston Villa four-one, and then losing to Bayern Munich three-nil in the Super Cup.

Olympiakos and FC Kobenhaven have also been drawn in Group C. It is looking most likely that Chelsea and Athletico Madrid shall top the group, but who knows.

Player of the Month

Ramires was excellent during August. He grabbed three goals and two assists. He had an average rating of 7.87 throughout the month. He strung up great passing play, and was the playmaker in the middle of the park in my 4-1-2-2-1 formation. Also since the recent interest from Man City and Real Madrid, the Brazilian was awarded with a new contract, getting a £50,000 raise.

Mourinho’s Thought’s

August wasn’t a great month. Losing so greatly to Aston Villa, then morale was low and we went out and got outplayed my Munich. But coming back to beat Tottenham was a good result, and it was an emphatic victory versus Cardiff.

Big loss against Aston Villa and Bayern but positive game against Spurs. Good luck in September
