Celtic have made the signing of Ecuador international attacker Jefferson Montero for a fee of £1.3 million from Mexican team Morelia. Montero is McDermott's first signing as Celtic manager and stated there wont be any new players for the fans to welcome
Montero will wear the number 18 shirt at Celtic and was presented to the press inside Celtic Park. Sky Sports' Charles Paterson was present at this press conference and managed to ask the new Celtic man and McDermott a few question.
Q. How do you feel about moving to a huge club like Celtic?
A. I am obviously very excited for the opportunity the manager has given me to join a club like Celtic. Celtic are very big back home in Mexico so it was an easy decision to join the club.
Q. Are you happy with the signing you have made today and should we expect any more arrivals at Celtic?
A. I'm delighted to welcome Montero to paradise and I believe he will be a huge success. He can play on the left or right wing and also as a striker. We have been looking at him since I arrived at the club and we have finally signed him. With regards to more signings I don't think we will be seeing any new players during this window because we have a very strong squad but I will be looking to sell one or two players and also get the young lads out on loan.
So both Celtic and Montero are happy with the deal that has been agreed but there will be no more signings for Celtic this summer.
