Margate FC: Seaside Dreaming

There are none. Literally, not a goalkeeper in the team! So, instead of evaluating the goalkeepers I have, I'm going to evaluate possible targets as recommended by scouts and, well, myself. I've been given a £2K transfer budget and a £2.78K wage budget to spend on players. Here, I will go through three potential goalkeepers for the squad...


First of all, Nick Jordan, a 23 year old Englishman with a three star current ability and a four and a half star potential ability. While not best for a first team appearance this season, Jordan may be good for future seasons, so he's definitely a possibility for a new signing at Hartsdown Park.


Next up, Damir Salcin, a 31 year old Australian, who is wanted by three other clubs - Stalybridge, Sutton Utd and Whitehawk. He has a four and a half star current and potential ability, meaning he isn't likely to improve. This means he is a very possible choice for that goalkeeper spot in the team we urgently need.


Finally, David Bevan, currently contracted to Rugby, but available on an amateur contract. The 24 year old is wanted by three other clubs - Concord Rangers, Ilkeston and AFC Hornchurch. He has a 3 and a half star current ability with a four and a half star potential ability, so matches both Salcin and Jordan in potential ability.

A pretty good set of defenders, to be honest, compared to some other teams in our league. We have four solid centre backs in Vines, Walsh, Beales and Avery, two right backs in Cox and Newman, and two left backs in Craddock and the oh-so-versatile Dolby. In the best case scenario, my back four will be Elliot Cox, Phil Walsh, John Beales and George Craddock, but all of my back-ups will do great jobs in smaller games or as rotation.


Captain, John Beales, is without a doubt one of the best players in the squad overall, and he will be a vital part of the team this season. However, with fierce competition from the equally good Phil Walsh, Joe Vines and Richard Avery, he'll have to play very well to keep his first team place throughout the season.


Also, 19 year old George Crainey is just a youngster in the Margate team, but already is a key player in our first team squad. With versatile Dolby more likely to play in a left winger position, it seems that the left back position is guaranteed for the 19 year old, providing injuries stay away for the season.

Yeah, Dolby's in there, too, but he's so damn versatile! In the central midfield, we have Kinch, Richards and Sammoutis. On the right, we have Whitely, Bodkin and Azeez, and on the left, we have Payne, Dolby and Rhodes. We have a solid midfield to go with our defense, and that's very important in a low league like this. I'm hoping that our midfield will consist of Kinch, Richards, Sammoutis, Azeez and Rhodes, and we may need to sign another central midfielder, but other than that, we have a very solid midfield.


Jack Sammoutis, who would've been named captain if he wasn't just 19 years old. He is an exceptional player already and it bound to tear up tier 7. The scouts say he'd be a great player for Mega Championship League sides, which is the fourth tier of football. Also, he has the potential to be a leading Mega Premier League side, which is the third tier! I'll try to keep the Cypriot as long as possible, but I know that a player like Sammoutis won't stay forever without a fight.


Scott Kinch, another exceptional player set to tear up the league this season. He has a 4 and a half star rating as a 31 year old, and will definitely be a key player in the team this year and beyond.

We have just three strikers in our team, but I feel that's all we need for the season. We have Ademeno who will most likely start for the majority of the season, but Vines is a very good back up to him. Then we have 18 year old, still improving Emanuel-Williamson, who will be good for the easy matches against Bishop Auckland.


Charles Ademeno, 24 years old. He's definitely the key player up front for the team, with Vines and Emanuel-Williamson quite far behind the skills of this Englishman.
