Tranmere Rovers sack Ronnie Moore

Tranmere Rovers has terminated the contract of head coach Ronnie Moore and is effective immediately.

The 59 year-old's sacking is rumoured to be connected to the recent charges by FA from betting.

Moore became manager of Tranmere for a second time in 2012 following spells at Oldham, Southport and Rotherham, and leaves Tranmere before the season begins.

With pre-season starting and star players such as James Wallace and Ash Taylor linked to other clubs, the future appointed Tranmere head coach has a lot of work to do.

(Note i play this in FM 12 with the recent update, so it may seem different than FM 14 but hopefully that won't be a problem)
OH, Tranmere we love you! My recent Tranmere story has been corrupted, so it's nice to see another Tranmere one.

Clint Hill appointed Tranmere head coach

Clint replaces Ronnie Moore after his recent sacking

The English left-back, who can also play center-back, has been handed a one year contract with the Rovers.

Some say Tranmere are mad with employing a man with no managerial experience, even though he was a professional footballer, while others relish the return of the man who was once part of the Tranmere team that went to the 2000 League Cup Final.

Clint, in his Tranmere days

"It is a great opportunity, one i hope to relish, claims Clint Hill.

"Tranmere has always been in my heart, it is where i started, and if time allows it, where i will finish."

Clint joins fellow former QPR player Shaun Derry as manager, who is now managing Notts County.

On related news, Clint has also retired from playing duties, and will only be involved in managerial duties.

"If there is a right time to retire, it is now.

"I will miss playing on the field, but it will benefit everyone, including me and the club, if i only play the game from backstage."
