After a highly successful season 2013/14 for the North London side, Tottenham Hotspur. Finding a Champions League spot (4th) and winning the Europa Cup against Schalke in the final. The man in charge, Andre Villa-boas has chosen to part ways with the Lily-whites. In an exclusive AVB was vocal about his love of vintage cars and motorcycles a passion and hobby he can’t maintain while managing in football. Especially with his very hands on approach. Andre also mentioned the difficulty he has finding time for his family whilst managing a problem many in the same shoes can agree on.

Many fans are said to be saddened by the loss as they thought he was the right man to take Spurs into the Champions League and many fans have made it clear they don’t see Tottenham posing as big of a threat without him. With too little time for a new manager to impose a new system and make it perfect. Especially after Andre’s very clinical system made such a difference. It would be an extremely difficult task to scrap a perfect system and start another.

The club still has to move on. It seems with Tottenham whenever they find the right gears for the engine a spanner is thrown in them. Unfortunate for many fans as a title challenge has been on their lips for years and even more so for the season ahead. Before all the changing.

So who is in contention to take over the hot seat at White Hart Lane? Pundits have highlighted Southampton’s ex manager Mauricio Pochettino, the US of A’s Jurgen Klinsmann and Tottenham’s U21 manager Tim Sherwood. All look likely to be in battle to take the seat.

Oo, we won a European cup! Can't wait to see who will take charge ;). Great start, keep it up!!

Wenger sacked by Gunners

A dismal season at the Emirates has dug a grave for long time manager Arsene Wenger. Missing not only the Champions League but the Europa as well has made for a distraught year for Gunners fans. Many looking for answers as to why such a superstar squad has missed out on the two European competitions. With the signing of Mesut Ozil, Hector Moreno and Antoine Griezmann most fans thought a title challenge was on the cards.

Yet Arsenal are not the only ones to shock the footballing world. Liverpool also failed to meet expectations as they sat one below the London club in 9th position come the end of the season. Which in turn marked the end of Brendan Rodgers struggling campaign as Liverpool's manager. With the seat left open Olympique de Marseille's Marcelo Bielsa has left the Ligue 1 and started anew at Anfield.

At the Emirates, Zenit St.Petersburg's Luciano Spalletti has taken the hot seat. Hoping to provide a quality reply for Gunners fans for the next season.

With these two sackings Tottenham owners/chairmen have been given two new options to offer the managerial job too. Apparently Arsene Wenger is now in poll position to take the job. Many Spurs fans are furious the board is even considering the ex-Arsenal man. Yet none can deny Wenger is a quality manager and is Tottenham should snap him up the chances of him being the right man for the job are high.

Tottenham announce legend as manager

Today Daniel Levy has announced that ex-Tottenham defender Ledley King will take the reigns of the managerless club. Fans are said to be extremely happy with the new manager. King is excited by the chance to manage his old club and potentially bring a strong title challenge for the upcoming season. Unfortunate for King though the team he is in charge of has thoroughly adapted to a style Andre Villas-Boas has set up. Which will take time to adjust and change to King's preferences. In a press conference Ledley did have this to say

"Andre brought about a lot glory for the club. Glory that many haven't seen in years. Re-entering the Champions League and winning the Europa league are undeniably what every club owner wants. This will be hard for me to follow behind but, I promise the fans, players and club I will try my very best to continue the movement." stated Ledley. He then brought up the questionable change in tactics. "The set up Spurs have right now is nearly dead on perfect. I don't wish to change it, I only wish tweak and potentially find the final pieces of the puzzle, to bring even more success."

Music to many fans ears. Long time friend and colleague Jermain Defoe spoke in the next conference about the signing.

"Seeing King back at the club is truly a special thing and we are all very excited to work with him!" Said an elated Jermain Defoe.

As King comes in to take over, the players leave on holiday and some head for the world cup in Rio de Janeiro.
Nice start :) King I'd imagine will be a very popular choice among the Spurs fan base. Wenger sacked, though :(

WOO, LEDLEY KING!!!! Absolute monster, would love to see him go into some form of coaching irl. Probably one of the better center backs to ever grace the PL, and I say that w/o bias, ofc ;)

Thanks boys!

@P-KIDDY - Yeah I know I was kinda shocked I was expecting them to give him at least one more chance.

@Nick - I know me too I'd love King to have a more influential role at the club one day.

The King's thoughts

SkySports sat down with Tottenham's manager Ledley King this weekend as they discussed the new Premier League teams and England in the World Cup.

Wigan managed to find their way back up into the Premier League just one season after their relegation and they look likely to make an impact on the transfer window to make sure they sir-cum the same fate. We sat down and prodded Ledley for his thoughts on their recent return.

"Well Owen Coyle definitely made a great impact on the Latic's last season and rightfully so. I am rather excited to play Owen's boys, as they play a tremendous game and when he was with Bolton he gave us a run for our money a fair few times." Said the Spurs man. He continued to say "The likes of Watford and Leicester coming up make the competition interesting as I personally had my money on Q.P.R over the Foxes. I guess they proved to strong for the R's in the final."

Leicester's Anthony Knockaert has apparently been on King's short list for sometime now and talk between the clubs has been on going. Apparently the only thing keeping Anthony from King's grasp is the Foxes valuation of the player.

When asked about England's chances in the World Cup, King had this to say "Personally I think we have a very good squad for this World Cup. Danny Welbeck and Leighton Baines have been in heroic form this season and we can expect great things. I am sure this has been said over and over again though, as many World Cups have come and gone and left us fans with watery eyes and knife threw our heart. One can only hope that Roy (Hodgson) has some tricks up his sleeve for those filthy Spaniards and Brazilians." We questioned Ledley on who he could pose a strong threat as a underdog. "Belgium. Those lot have a team to be reckoned with and many just skim right over them. When you look closely there is a very strong squad there. Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Super Jan, Benteke, Vincent Kompany, Mirallas and so many more. There are some scary names in that squad and they will do well this year." stated King.

King in for Benteke

Tottenham have revitalized their interest in Aston Villa's Belgium starlet today. After the recent relegation of the Villian's the expected players have handed in transfer requests. Benteke being one of them. Last season AVB tried to sign the young striker in the end though Benteke ended up signing a new contract for the following season.

King is said to be an admirer of the striker and is looking to sign him to replace possibly Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor. One on the decline and the other not living up to his hype. The cost of Benteke's transfer is likely to be around the 20m mark but, could go lower. Due to Aston Villa's relegation. Many would expect them to try and find as much money as possible to win a promotion back to the Premier League.

Tottenham say good bye to three

At the start of the transfer window Tottenham have let go of three. Anderson, Etienne Capoue and Benoit Assou-Ekotto have all found new homes.

Anderson has moved to last years over achievers Stoke City in hopes of helping them retain a solid spot in the top six in the Premier League. Anderson didn't make the impact he would have liked to last season at White Hart Lane. Only making five appearance for the North London club and averaging just a 6.23 led to many fans disappointment. King apparently put him on the transfer list the moment he became manager. Moves to Stoke for 5m

Assou-Ekotto had fallen out of favour at Tottenham during the AVB era and after little to no time given to him Benoit asked for a transfer. Even with the new manager the player was still determined to continue his career with another club feeling his time as a Lily-White was done. Benoit moves to Everton for 2m.

The news of Etienne Capoue shocked many. King made it public that he enjoyed Etienne at the club and felt the French midfielder could become a strong player for Tottenham in the future. Unfortunately Etienne felt differently and made it clear, like Assou-Ekotto he wanted change. He joins Olympique Marseille for 4.3m

Benteke signs on

Tottenham announce the signing of Aston Villa striker, Christian Benteke. Negotiations have taken a while but, King has finally got his man and his first signing as Tottenham manager. For an estimated 17.5m Benteke moved to the North London Club in hopes of continuing his successful career in the Premier League.

Christian has already spent two years in the league making 71 appearances and scoring 35 goals. An impressive ratio that had many top teams enquiring about the Belgium.

Benteke will add competition for Tottenham's striker Roberto Soldado who didn't find much competition from Spur's other strikers Adebayor and Defoe. Both of which are expected to move on this season. It is rumoured that veteran Jermain Defoe is in contact with a serious buyer from the Premier League, no news of who yet but, experts believe it could be one of the newly promoted.
