Hi guys, first post on the forum.

Had a query on the 3d match engine. I had a bit of trouble with my most recent game towards the end of the season, my pc isn;t the most powerful and as a resultmy tv mode started to perform really slowly (althought it was fine in the 2nd season :con)

Can anyone advise me what has the biggest impact on the speed of the game; number of leagues or size of database?

Many thanks in advance

Jimbo
usually the amount of leagues, because it has to process scores etc.

adding RAM to your PC will help a lot. FM uses a lot of RAM.
If it's slowing down while watching your match, I would think it's a ram issue and not a league/database size issue. Now, if you were experiencing lag while you were simming days via the "continue" button from the main menu, then I would think it was an issue with the number of leagues and/or size of database being bigger than your computer can handle efficiently.

For a point of comparison, I have little problems simming my current game, which has all of England loaded (Premier League down to Blue Square North/South) using a large database. I have a dual core Intel processor and 2 gigs of ram, and the only time things slow down is when the vast majority of leagues have games to sim in a given day. I don't have any issues with speed while watching games in 3d unless I have a LOT of other programs running in the background (music, downloads, etc). Hell, the other day I was playing Civilization 4 at the same time and neither game was slowing down. 8)
