Hello, and welcome to my 'Manchester United FC - Die Roten Teufel story. Die Roten Teufel, if you didn't already know, simply translates to 'The Red Devils' in German. That will be clue number one to who I am impersonating within management.

I will not introduce my manager immediately, and there will be a few hints in the first few updates before I am unveiled. I have so far 'attempted' a story, although I never even saw the story start due to difficulties. With more time now, and a desire to play Football Manager, I feel I can go a long way with this story.

I understand there are one or two Manchester United stories floating about, although the one's I have tracked the last few days are rarely updated as it seems. I feel there is an opportunity with Manchester United following their recent dramas, and I hope to guide them so success (to some extent)!

So you will join me at the start of the 2013/2014 season. There will be a lot of drama from day one and it will be a hectic start to my Manchester United career. I hope you enjoy it.
Good luck, I've got my United story going and I'll be interested to see the decisions you make compared to mine. :)
Good luck :D

Jamesg237: Another Manchester United story? When I had a look it seemed none were even being written anymore! And thanks.

David Moyes Declines The Offer To Succeed Sir Alex

It has today been revealed that David Moyes has magnificently rejected the offer to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at the Theatre of Dreams. The Glazer’s are reported to have offered the Scot a mega 6 year deal worth an estimated £48 million.

Having announced his departure from Everton FC after eleven years just last week, it was expected the move had been made to order to replace Sir Alex Ferguson, with Manchester United having been without a manager for three weeks. Fans were excited, the media were raring, and players were looking forward to working under a new manager. Nevertheless, with Moyes rejecting the contract from the Red Devils, the future of the Manchester giants is unknown, as is the future of David Moyes.

Malcolm Glazer, owner of Manchester United Football Club, released an official club statement on the club website today, reading:

“Following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, we can confirm the club made an official approach for David Moyes following his resignation from Everton Football Club. We can also confirm David Moyes’ departure from Everton was not related to our club, and we are yet to speak to any other managers. A contract in the region of 6-years was turned down by Mr. Moyes, and we will continue our hunt for a new manager. We will not announce a manager quickly, and want to ensure the new managerial staff will benefit the club and are of our best interests.”

Fans have been quick to release their views on who they think will replace David Moyes. Jose Mourinho is a potential candidate, despite his move to Chelsea FC due to be completed within the coming days, with Andre Villas-Boas another Premier League manager linked to Old Trafford. Sky Bet have released their odds on the new manager, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer leading at 3/1, Jupp Heynckes close behind with odds of 5/1, and Mike Phelan completing the top three with 11/2.

With pre-season friendlies approaching in the next week, a manager will have to be announced soon with Mike Phelan announcing he will not be taking over pre-season fixtures as an assistant manager. Could it mean he will be the manager for the coming season?
Ooo, I wanna know who it is... My guess is Louis Van Gaal, despite not being listed B) . Great first update, btw!
Nick: An interesting guess. Would be a decent option for United should Moyes get the boot too! Thanks. :)

Time To Move On?

I looked back on the opportunity to move on with great caution. Manchester United are a respected club after all. They have won many titles, and possessed many of the top footballers in the world. Who wouldn't want to manage Manchester United? Well, excluding David.

And besides, I have experienced a lot here and have been very grateful for the time and opportunities I have been given. I enjoyed a lengthy playing career and have obtained the odd trophy. Unfortunately, to pick up any more I feel I need to move away. Face a different league, different cup, and different culture.

Putting in the request to my club to terminate my contract was no easy move. They have done a lot for me and that is something I will never forget. Putting in my request to Manchester United was even tougher. I was, for some reason, nervous, and felt I would be laughed at. A manager with no experience in England... Would it be worth the risk?

Apparently so, as my optimism and strenuous work at attempting a new move paid off. Manchester United Football Club are very interested in working with me, and I will get to meet with them over the coming days.

Excellent!
You are definitely building up the suspense! Tell us all now!
It's Klopp isn't it....
Jamesg237: Soon!

FM4LIFE: Ooh, that's a closer guess than Louis Van Gaal, getting warmer!

Fans In Disbelief as RVP Joins AS Monaco

With the recent departures of Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United Football Club will face another difficulty - the departure of influential striker Robin van Persie. Despite the club still being without a manager, Malcolm Glazer and Ed Woodward took control when the official bid was received.

And despite his significance last season, helping United to their 20th Premier League title, the duo felt Robin was worth selling after just one season with the club. Admittedly, the hefty profit combined with the unfortunate factor of age would tempt any owners, although the transfer may go down badly with the fans.

Robin van Persie has now joined Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, who already boast the attacking options of Falcao and Dimitar Berbatov, for a staggering fee of £27.5 million, after moving last season from Arsenal for just £20 million.

The transfer now leaves Manchester United with limited options up front: Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck considered the only options at a first-team ability. During the unveilment of the Flying Dutchman over in France, Robin explained how the move came about.

When Sir Alex left, I was devastated. I made the move from Arsenal to Manchester purely for that man. He is a legend, and I have always wanted to play under him. However, I have now collected the Premier League winner's medal I have always dreamed of, and with Ferguson no longer manager - I had no desire to play for the club. I wanted to experience a different league, and test myself further.

I made contact with a few clubs once the move was gone, and discussed my availability. However, we kept it quiet to the media, and to my club, in case they tried to block the move. Nevertheless, I am very grateful for my time at Old Trafford, and wish them the very best next season. Meanwhile, I am now here to help Monaco win. Forza Monaco!

Will Woodward and co. bring in another forward to act as a replacement, or will they leave it in the hands of the manager? Only time will tell.
