I am now going to take a break from my recent Celtic story and will begin one with Everton FC. In this story I will be looking to make Everton a regular team in European football, firstly in the Europa League then hopefully the Champions League. Everton have a transfer budget of £10 million and a strong team with a mixture of youth and experience.

Martinez Leaves Everton

After only months into his position of manager of Everton Roberto Martinez has left the club by mutual consent. After the recent sale of Fellaini, to Manchester United, Martinez was left angered by the little money given to him to reinvest into the squad. After a short meeting inside Goodison Park it was announced the manager had left the club. We expect the new manager will be named in the coming days. The favourites for the vacant job are Neill Lennon, Harry Redknapp and Roberto Di Matteo.
Ah, the Pride of Merseyside. Good luck.

Everton Name New Manager

Everton Officials today announced the appointed of their new manager, 35 year old McDermott. The announcement came as a shock to everybody as the inexperienced Scot has only managed the youth teams at Everton. However, he has worked with Ross Barkley before in the under 19s team and is a popular figure at the Everton Training ground. McDermott will now look to prepare his side for a challenging Premier League season where European qualification is the goal.

The Everton board revealed that there is £10 million to spend on new players. Everton have already signed Irish international McGeady, and strikers Lukaku and Traore on a season long loan deal. McDermott did say he wanted to sign a midfielder to fill the void left by Fellaini. The question is, can McDermott lead Everton into Europe in his first season in management, many believe he cannot.
On behalf of Leamington board & staff, congrats mate! Good luck! :D
