In a shock decision it seems everton boss Roberto Martinez has been sacked.

"It is with regret that Everton football club announce that Roberto Martinez has been relieved of his duties as manager," read a statement on the club's official website. This has been a difficult decision for the owner, chairman and board to make and it is the outcome of a planned end of season review process that has been brought forward in light of recent speculation and out of respect for Roberto and his extensive contributions to the club. read a statement on the club's official website

Club chairman Bill Kenwright was quoted as saying "We feel confident that we will have a good manager and a very good team next year. It's just, as normally as it happens in football, time to change for the good"

A decision on the new manager is expected to be made shortly.

Pavitt announced as new Everton boss

In a statement today Bill Kenwright has named Matthew Pavitt as the new boss at Everton. Pavitt has been handed a one year deal at Everton reportedly worth 2.2M pounds. Pavitt (35) has recently taken up managment after a career as a player at Norwich city and Manchester United. Pavitt picked up 22 caps for England during his career.

While some fans will no doubt be supprised at the appointment there will be a lot of speculation hanging around goodison park with fans awaiting to see if Pavitt can finally push their team into the Champions League.

Managers Player of the month
Tough decision between two players that performed well in first 4 fixtures but the award has to go to Osman. 2 goals in 3 apperances with an average rating of 7.81 was just enough to beat Steven Pienaar to the award this month.

Summary
Not a great start to the season. Good start to the league with the win away to west ham but the next two games were terrible. definitly being viewed as five points dropped.Pleased to be through to the next round of the cup as this gives me a chance to give some of the younger players a chance without worrying about dropping more points. Interesting to note that none of my strikers have scored yet. Hopefully my new signing will change this. The next month looks tricky with league games at Arsenal and at home Chelsea before a easier cup game at home to Milwall. The month will wind up with a home league fixture against West Brom.
why you talking about man city and mancini
Aah thanks for spotting that. will change that now.

managers Player of the month
The award for September has to go to Kevin Mirallas. Scoring in 3 of the 4 fixtures and an average rating of 7.95 he by far out performed the rest of the squad.

The month ahead
Premier league fixtures against Man Utd, Newcastle and Southampton should see us walk away with at least 6 points. We also have a capital one cup 4th round tie against West Brom to look forward to.
