To Note

Hello guys and welcome to my new story with Lazio! I have recently had 4 other stories up but my Osijek story got corrupted and I accidentally deleted my Gavin Owen: Wexford Youth save. This means I don't have a story I can update when I am not motivated to do my Czechmate story (which you should totally check out if you haven't already). Right now i'm not really motivated to do detailed monthly updates so I've started this story. This story will be less detailed with monthly reports instead of match reports.
Good luck! :)

Reja Stands down from Lazio post

Manager Edoardo Reja has been stepped down from his post at S.S. Lazio. Reja joined the Serie A team in 2010 from Croatian team Hajduk Split. Since Reja took over the Rome club have had a rise and fall in league positions, finishing 5th in the 2010/11 season, 4th in the 2011/12 but after falling back down to 7th last season Reja has announced that he can no longer further the team.
"I've had a good stint at Lazio and I've really enjoyed my team here, the fans have been behind my back as well as the players. I would like to thank you all but I believe it is time to move on in my career, I believe that I can no longer progress and push this team forward and believe it is time for a younger manager with new ideas, to come in and revamp the team" Said Edoardo in the press-conference.

Edoardo has managed a lot of teams over his long career, including reputable teams such as Bologna, Lecce, Torino, Genoa, Catania, Cagliari, Napoli and Hajduk. At the age of 67, however, it looks like this list will not be getting any larger. Lazio president Claudio Lotito has announced that the Edoardo's replacement is only a signature away and that the next manager could be revealed very soon. Claudio did not mention any names but he has dropped hints that it is a new manager with no previous managerial experience but he will be a very familiar face to Lazio fans. "I believe that the next head coach is indeed close to signing but I don't want to say anything that may put him off" expressed Claudio.

There have been many rumours that Spaniard Gaiska Mendieta maybe the new manager joining Lazio but others believe that Alessandro Nesta should be named. All we know for certain is that in 24 hours time Lazio will be making a huge gamble.
Lets hope you stick with this one...again...

Nesta reveiled as new Lazio manager

Lazio have today revealed that the manager replacing Edoardo Reja will be ex-Lazio and Milan centre-back Alessandro Nesta. Nesta (38) recently retired from football after playing 193 games for Lazio, 224 games for AC Milan and 31 games for Montreal Impact, he has shown delight in the trust shown to him by the club who also gave him his first shot as a player.

"I am delighted to be joining Lazio again, I know how the club runs and I know what the fans demand. I am here to give them everything and I am here to give them what they deserve." where the first words Alessandro gave to the press after being announced Lazio manager. President Claudio Lotito expressed delight at Nesta deciding to join his club, "I believe Alessandro has what it takes, he has the knowledge and charisma to become a legend at the club and I am putting everything I have behind him to make sure the next few years at this club" stated Claudio.
When asked about what he is going to do at Lazio now he is manager, Nesta confidently said "I will win things. I will bring in good players who will play good football and win things. That is what I want to be remembered by, I want to be the manager that won things. Some managers have names they want to be called and I want to end up with fans calling me il signore." When pushed on to talk about transfers Nesta added "I have players in a shortlist who I would want to sign and I don't really need to bother think about if they would want to join because who wouldn't want to join me, I am Alessandro Nesta!"

It seems that Nesta sure has the charisma and drive to do well at Lazio but only time will tell if he can become a success, knock Juventus off their perch and become 'The Lord'. Early reports are linking the new manager with a move for AC Milan's Urby Emanuelson, after the Dutchman was put up for sale earlier this week.
That's a great choice of manager! :)

Star trades Rome for North London

Alessandro Nesta has today revealed the departure of Antonio Candreva to Arsenal for a sum of
£14.5m. Antonio had been a Lazio player for 3 seasons and had made 50 appearances. Nesta has thanked Antonio for all the work he has done at the club but, has revealed how he accepted Arsenal's bid with no hesitation as he felt that the offer was too good to turn down. Having joined Napoli for only £425k means that Lazio have made a large profit on the player and the Lazio board have stated that they are investing it straight back into the squad, giving Nesta a chance to bring in his own wingers.

Speculation is that Lazio are close to signing wingers Andre Hahn from Augsburg and Inter Milan's Maxi Moralez. Rumours for Lazio being close to the signature of Maxi Moralez grew on social network sites when there were pictures leaked of Lazio Director of Football Igli Tare having a coffee in a cafe in Milan. There have also been leaked photos of Alessandro Nesta having a meal in a posh restaurant in the center of London but sources cannot figure any reasoning behind this visit.
Candreva is amazing on FM14, let's see who will you bring instead! Good luck with this story!
