United thrash the devils
The game started off at a furious pace with Jerry Lopez narrowly missing a drilled shot after a fast counter attack after less than a minute. It was Glacis who took the lead 2 minutes later after Left Back
Glen Gilbert curled the ball into the bottom corner after 3 minutes. Manchester were level after 18 minutes as Ballantine fed

Kamara snatched on a mistake by Kyle Moreno to drill the ball into the bottom corner. The lead lasted for 12 minutes before ex Manchester 62 striker

Nathan Green scored a screamer which Los Santos had no chance with to give Glacis the lead. Half Time Glacis 3-2 Manchester.
In the second half it was Glacis who continued to attack and Lavagna struck a volley just wide after a good cross by Green before 5 minutes later
Green scored an easy tap in after 53 minutes to give Glacis a 4-2 lead. Lavagna again missed a chance to add to the lead after Al Paul Greene played an incisive ball through the Manchester defence. Manchester defender Jack Sergeant had a brilliant header disallowed for offside before 4 minutes later Lopez had his drilled goal disallowed again for offside after a flick on by Kamara. Late on the game began to fizzle out but with about ten minutes to go Sheppard rattled the bar before Lavagna shot miles wide from two yards out. Glacis fans celebrated an unexpected victory and their side did it in good style.
We spoke to man of the match Nathan Green after the game and he said that he was ‘proud of the team’s performance in the game. He knows that they haven’t been in good form over pre-season, myself included and that in what was expected to be a tight game he is delighted to claim victory.
Also Matthew Dale said ‘I can’t quite believe what I have just saw, I have been aggravated by our pre-season performances, so it is brilliant to get off to a winning start particularly against such a well fancied side and said that the team especially Nathan Green have done the fans proud and that he wanted to dedicate this victory to the fans who must have loved every minute.
When interviewed Alex Lopez said that he was ‘extremely disappointed with his team’s performance and I just hope that they can bounce back to challenge for a Europa League spot. Also I would like to say that Nathan Green looks like a promising player and I hope that Gibraltar will take notice’.
The victory leaves Glacis top but only as this was the first fixture of the new season and tomorrows fixtures could see teams overtake Glacis something Lincoln may well be expected to do.
