can someone please give me some ideas on which are the best team instuctions to use currently the manager of sheffield united in the championship.
it's different for everything.

usually if you have a good set of players with good passing. then you can play short and slow, or have a faster tempo according to your team and other tactical aspects. also now you have to think that player instructions should be different for everyone, a player like scholes should have mixed in passing style as he is a great passing player and should have the freedom to pass around.

while if your looking at your team with not so much of skills, you can always play balanced meaning not changing much in the personal instructions.

also passing style direct is best combined with quick tempo and long balls.

but you have to find another thing for everything. for an example if your playing direct or long then you might want to have a target man, a big target man to flick on headers or quick target men to run onto ball, its upto you.

YOU NEED TO experiment. you need to learn yourself as well.

also if you want your team to control the match the ideal things would be to have:

slightly pushed up defence, with play offside. short and slow passing, closing down often, freedom a bit more than normal, and a bit attacking. time wasting normal.

that is good for home matches of course.

but you have to learn much yourself, look at your team playing and see how they are doing and what is working and what isnt, than alter your tactics slightly and see what effects it has etc.
