Only players from the same nation - Editor

Hi everybody, (Hi Dr Nic)

So I decided that I wanted to see what it would be like if you could only buy players from the same nation you were managing in. Now I didn't think this would be easy to setup and, I was right.

I'm basically asking for help to see if this is even possible to setup? The work permit regulations are fairly small, only a few options regarding potential and caps/games. I've tried adding 'Agreements and setting them into the nation rules, here was another stumbling block as I have no idea how to verify the rules using the test process.

Does anybody else have any ideas how I could accomplish this?

I literally came here to ask the same thing! Haven't actually had a look yet but if I come across anything that will help I will let you know.

I had a reply from the SI Forums on this.

The best way to do this would be to change the squad rules so that only players that have the correct nationality can be registered for a competition. You can then also increase the number of years it takes for a player to nationalise, to make it so a team cannot buy a player and then wait until he has lived in the country for X years and has the correct nationality.

Of course, this would mean either creating competitions again, or changing them using the advanced editor, but I think it should be possible to do what you want."

So I'm going to try this out today and let you know how i get on.

Ahh so it's easy? If you change the nationality thing then load up the database it will have just kept all the correct ones and kicked the rest out of the squad? Something that "add players to playable teams" would fix? Or am I way off here haha...

Not quite that easy haha

I've been struggling with it for weeks, you have to change the nations rules in the advanced editor section. Ensuring that all the rules work correctly with each other is proving difficult. I can get it sort of working for certain leagues and competitions but not all...:@

Frustrating!!
