Hello Guys

This is my first ever story on FMscout and I will be using Derby County.

I chose Derby because:

a) I haven't seen many on here of Derby of recent time which I found amazing.
b) They have such a great youth setup. They have a Superb youth training facility and a grade 2 youth setup category.
c) They have Will Hughes! A player I love to watch play football and on a personal real life not I hope my team Liverpool can sign him in the summer.

Well that's enough Introduction. the first update will be up by latest tomorrow.

Also thanks to AlexTHFC for the amzing banner
Always love a good derby story, good luck mate!
@coyb20 thanks mate I hope you enjoy.

Derby Sack McLaren

Derby County have confirmed the mutual termination of manager Steve Mclaren’s contract after a reported argument with chairmen Andy Appleby.

After finishing 10th last season. Mclaren was rumoured to be wanting a much larger transfer budget to increase his teams chances of promotion.

A statement was released by Derby at 10:00 am this morning which read “Due to an unfortunate disagreement between Steve and Andy Appleby we have decided to terminate Steve Mclaren’s contract” it continued “ We thank Steve for his time and dedication to the club and wish him well for his future. We will be hoping to appoint a new manager as soon as possible.” Concluding with “We will be appointing assistant manager Paul Simpson as caretaker manager until a new man is appointed.”

With most clubs including Derby all meeting up on July 1st it gives the board at Pride Park only 10 days to announce a new boss for the players to meet.

Derby have already organised a couple of friendly’s starting with a game against Derby County u21s side on July 3rd.

Will a new man be in charge by then? Time will only tell.

Sky Bet Odds

Steve Clarke – 5/6
Kevin Davis – 3/4
Andy Appleby – 1/50
A nice, detailed update here. To make it look a little neater maybe a picture of McLaren just below the headline?

Shock appointment made at Derby!

A new manager has been announced at Derby, Seb Arnold has been appointed Derby manager

The appointment is completely unexpected as Arnold is virtually unheard of. After having a former England manager at the helm surely this is a complete step down to appoint a man who was only appointed as U18s manager a week before the sacking of Steve Mclaren.

We managed to talk to a couple of Derby fans on the appointment.

“What? Who is this guy? Surely it’s all a joke. Why would we appoint a man whose only job in management is of a bloody U18s squad?” Said one fan

Another fan had this to say “Its still quite shocking. But I am going to be fair to this guy. For all we know he is a future England manager.”

Finally a fan said “I have been a fan for 60 years since I was 8 years old. I never would of believed we would have had a manager of the reputation of Steve and then to throw that away for a complete unknown guy! It’s diabolical!”

We will have a interview with the new boss at 3:00 pm tomorrow.

Seb Arnold Interviewed.

Key = Geoff Shreeves – Sky Sports News- GS
Paul Adams – BBC - PA
Seb Arnold – Derby Manager- SA
Andy Appleby – Chairman of Derby - AA

AA: Welcome Lady’s and Gentleman today I would love to introduce to you the new manager of Derby County. Seb Arnold.

SA: Thank you Andy.

GS: Good morning Seb and Andy. Andy what most fans are asking is who is Seb Arnold and why did you appoint him as the new manager?

AA: Well I will leave the bit of who Seb is for him to answer. However we as a board decided to appoint seb manager because of his excellent potential. At an age of 34 Seb has a long managerial career ahead of him. We saw Seb manage the under 18s last week and instantly offered him a job. I never realised just how good he was.

GS: Seb can you answer exactly who you are?

SA; Morning Geoff. Well to cut a long story short I was born in London before moving to Liverpool at the age of 2. I lived there until I was 10 when my Dad moved us to South Africa. I lived there until 18 when I moved to Derby for University. At the age of 23 I had been injured multiple times and started my coaching badges. Fortunately I got a job here to work with the under 18s before being promoted to the first team squad manager.

PA: Seb, What do you believe you can bring to this job?

SA: Hopefully I can get the best out of my squad. I believe my squad is vey well balanced with a talented bunch of guys. We may need strengthening in certain areas however that shall not be discussed today.

GS: Of course you cant tell us your targets but will you be selling anybody?

SA: Maybe. You never know. I think it would be extremely unfair to sell a player who I haven’t even given a chance to yet. I will be working very closely with Paul Simpson my assistant in pre-season to focus and evaluate each and every player.

PA: You had a spell at the under 18s before this job. Will any of them jump into the first team?

SA: We have a pre-season for a reason. I will put a couple of the Under 18s for a couple of the games to give them a chance. If any of them impress me immensely then yes, they may just get there chance.

GS: Who are we most likely to see from the under 18s?

SA: Mason Bennett is a very good player someone with tremendous talent. Also Jorna Moulton. Both are really talented and I believe they could be future stars. That dosent mean anyone else from the youth squad wont be looked at.

AA: That is all we have time for as Seb has a very busy few weeks ahead of him.

SA: Thanks guys see you all soon.

Key Points

-Board appoint Seb on performance at Derby under 18s
-Seb believes he has a talented squad
- Will be evaluating squad all week and through pre-season
-Mason Bennett has a good chance of being promoted from u18s to first team squad
