FM Scout FC : The Ultimate Challenge

Homesick- Garrincha Jr

OK. So I'm not Garrincha's son, but I don't think I had anyone fooled. In actual fact he is my grandfather. My real name is Paolo Francisco da Silva, but they call me Garrincha Junior because they say I am just like him. I can dribble, I can run, I can shoot. But even with these skills, I do not feel at home in England.

I am so used to the favellas where I grew up, playing in the cramped alleyways where I was at my best. The fields of England are alien, I struggle to keep up with the other boys. I am weak and unfit, I am not suited to this game.

But I know that I cannot leave the club. I am bound by oath to Graham Taylor to never leave, to help climb the pyramid. He says that one day, he thinks I could be as great as my grandfather, the 'Little Bird', once was. I sincerely hope so. However, I believe it would be beneficial for me and for the club if I took some time off. I have handed in a request to move back to Brazil as soon as possible. Hopefully, I come back a better player, ready to tackle England.
Great update!

The Peruvian's Perspective: Settling In

I knew it was never going to be a stroll in the park, moving to England. I've left family, friends, everything I know back in my homeland, Peru, all just to come to play football for this new, exciting club.

It's been difficult. Luckily I understand and speak little bits of English. This is because I hail from Callao, a port city, where many people come and import and export. All I can say is, it's helped dramatically.

I never saw myself as a leader, I've always been a quieter person. I don't like to cause fights or anything, but I don't speak up much either. Despite not speaking aloud, I think a lot. I have my opinions but I keep them to myself.

The group of boys here have a lot of potential. We are still young and growing and working on gelling into a cohesive team. The boss, Señor Taylor, is great with the younger boys and is getting a team ready for the season ahead.

Unfortunately, it is one error which may cost me. It was a knee-jerk decision and it was a bad one, too, and that was going to the club with the others. I got caught doing things that no footballer should be doing and I'm putting lots of effort in to set the record straight.

Josh Slater, one of my amigos at the club, has been caught up in some bad situations lately. He's young like all of us and has a lot of learning to do. He's not been well received by the rest of the group because he's a bit of a trouble maker at times, but I know he wants to set the record straight.

All in all, it's been up and down so far. I just want to prove myself and become the best that I can be. I miss my family and friends, and the sunshine of South America, but I know we can do great things here.
Niiiiiice update Walt. ;)
ok so not me? fk u again walt
Paulker what are you on about not you?

First Defeat For The Scouts

FM Scout 2-3 Droylsden

A gritty performance by Droylsden saw them come away from The FM Scout Community Stadium with a 3-2 win. A brace from Steve Brodie helped Droylsden to victory.

Things did not get off to a good start for The Scouts as veteran striker Steve Brodie seized on an error by Alfredo Martinez to score a effort from what must have been 35 yards out. An error by Nicolas Raven allowed Brodie to score an accurate finish.

Taylor then threw on Randy and he made all the difference when he set up 2 goals in 14 minutes. The first was a Terry Henry headed goal from a Randy cross and then young striker Aaron Hardy got on the end of another Randy cross to make it 2-2.

James Ogoo then clinched a late winner on the 91st minute to give The Scouts there first taste of defeat.
Terry Henry > Tierry Henry, there I said it!

Season Preview

With the Skrill North literally just days away we are going to look at FM Scout FC and there favourite tag they have.

FM Scout FC - 5/1f
AFC Telford - 10/1
Vauxhall - 12/1

The three teams apparently in with a shout of winning the Skrill North are FM Scout FC, a side made up of an entire squad of 15 and 16 year olds. There rivals AFC Telford, who got relegated from the Skrill Premier last season and Vauxhall Motors.

Lets start with Vauxhall, they will be seeking to get promoted this season and will be hoping that the likes of Jordan Rugg and Tom Hanningan step up and make themselves counted. The new vauxhall signing has already made it known in recent days that he is pleased to be part of the setup at Rivacre Park.

AFC Telford are also looking to win the Skrill North so the Bucks will need to rely on the likes of young centre-back Neill Byrne to step up and become a major contributor, whilst they will be expecting even greater things from the intriguing full-back Andy Owens.

But Telford have to catch the newest side from Telford in FM Scout FC. This side is made up solely of 15 and 16 year olds. Young midfielder Wagner is expected to figure as a key player in the squad as they launch there attack on the title this season. Young midfielder Louis Basham could be the extra catalyst The Scouts are looking for if they want to lift silverware come the end of the campaign.

This could well be an awesome season for The Scouts and it could well be a Shropshire 1-2. It will be a big match when they both play each other with fans already apparently hating each other!
Great update! We're going up! :D
Moar pls

Good Month For The Scouts!

It has been a interesting start to life in the Skrill North for FM Scout FC. There squad of 15 and 16 year olds are favourites to go up and with some of them performing so well that they are even in the Under 21 squads for there countries.

Firstly though lets look at each match individually.

FM Scout FC 1-0 Altrincham

It was a memorable day for Jesus Wagner and FM Scout fans alike as Wagner became the youngest player in the history of the Skrill North.

FM Scout's winner came through Louis Basham as he seized on Seb Harris's mistake to score a weak effort which found its way in via the goalpost.

Enthusiastic midfielder Steven Boothman then summed up his team's performance by nearly gifting The Scouts another goal on 79 minutes.

Wagner was then forced off with a injury on the 90th minute but it was not deemed to be serious. We played well, we were carved open several times though but Taal kept us in the match really well. I opted for 4-3-1-2 because it looked a better fit to beat a 4-4-2 formation but we are happy to get the win. Graham Taylor said after the match.

It was a day to remember for 15 year old Louis Basham as he made a scoring start to his FM Scout career in the 1-0 win.

The Sunderland born attacking midfielder was clearly delighted at making an instant impact and was greeted superbly by the delighted Scouts supporters.

Worcester 1-1 FM Scout FC

In a totally different team and formation for Taylor and FM Scout FC Worcester enjoyed a considerable size advantage over their opponents, weighing on average 5kg more per player, but were unable to secure victory and instead took a share of the spoils on a breezy evening at Aggborough.

Diminutive striker Eoin O'Raghailligh gave The Scouts the lead with a shot from 34 yards out in the 76th minute after a dire first half, Aaron Williams equalised for Worcester after 82 minutes with a close range header.

It was indeed a day to remember for Colombian Eoin O'Raghailligh as he scored on his debut for The Scouts.

The Soledad born striker was clearly delighted at making an instant impact and was greeted superbly by the delighted Scouts fans.

It is a dream come true to play with all of my friends. I am happy to score but we should have won and they got lucky.

FM Scout FC 3-2 Barrow

Louis Basham played the part of super sub for FM Scout FC today as The Scouts came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at the FM Community Stadium infront of a bumper crowd of 7,427.

Experienced striker Alex Meechan gave Barrow the lead with an accurate finish in the 19th minute. Meechan added his second goal of the game with a poorly struck effort from inside the penalty area on 34 minutes.

Barrow were nearly gifted a goal on 57 minutes through Danny Cutie's lapse in concentration but they failed to capitalise on the opportunity and were punished for it on the 60th minute when Louis Basham pulled one back for The Scouts.

Young full back Boris Johnson then equalised on the 79th minute with a cross that was mishit but found its way into the net. Then with time running out Basham hit a hopeful shot from 30 yards which flew into the top corner for an amazing second half fightback.

After this match was International call ups and for Under 19s these players where called up.

Under 19's

Belgium: Abhinav Srivastava
France: Terry Henry, Kyle Erdos, Nicolas Raven and Pierre Expimas
Italy: Genzo Wakabayashi
Holland: Randy and Frans Trijbels

Under 21's

France: Jeremy Pauker
Estonia: Joel Taal
San Marino: Boris Johnson

The very best of luck to them, they all deserve it.

The last match of the month was against Colwyn Bay and this is how they lined up.

Colwyn Bay 0-3 FM Scout FC

FM Scout had there midfield to thank on a fine summer's afternoon at Llanelian Road as they showed their strikers how to finish.

The Scouts finally took the lead when young winger Rafeal Der Silva scored a well struck effort on 46 minutes. Young winger Naveed Tahir doubled the lead with a long range effort on 61 minutes.

Young centre back Matt Wilkinson then summed up his team's performance by nearly gifting FM Scout FC another goal on 79 minutes. Things when from bad to worse for Colwyn Bay as veteran full-back Frank Sinclair was sent off and Tahir completed a 3-0 win with a free kick on 90 minutes.

Left winger Rafeal Der Silva was the best player on the park this afternoon and put in a superb performance. He will be delighted he was able to score but this impressive display was in part down to the threat he caused on occasion to the opposition defence when he ran at them with the ball.

League Table

Taylor's Notes

I will continue to change formation and see who is going get more playing time. I have been impressed with Basham, Youre, Tahir and Wagner.

Wagner intrigues me because he only plays when he can be arsed and that will change under me. Basham and Tahir look good every time they play and Youre is the setting up king. Der Silva also impresses me a bit too.

We are joint top but lets not get carried away, we are still being ripped apart a lot of the time but our three keepers look strong and solid. Also congrats to the international call ups you all deserve them.
Good to see I've played a few games. Let's hope I get an international call up soon.
What happened to Henry? He was great in pre-season...
