Novice manager signs one year deal

Blackpool have today confirmed that rookie manager Stephen Gibbs will be in charge for the upcoming season. Blackpool narrowly avoided relegation under Barry Ferguson who has since been appointed player-manager of Scottish League Two side Clyde. The new boss spoke highly of the club in an interview with Sky Sports. "It's a fantastic club, I remember watching them in the Premier League under Ian Holloway. He's one of the reasons I came here, he was and still is energetic, funny and he persuaded me to follow them while they were in the Premier League. I was gutted when they lost to West Ham in the playoff final a few years back but last season was one to forget. Hopefully, we can build a team and have a good season. The fans do deserve one." Gibbs will be assisted by Eric Black for the upcoming season.

Blackpool are predicted to finish 21st this season according to the bookies.
Our sources have told us that Karl Oyston has told Stephen to ensure the players are competitive.
Good luck, please help my club out :))

Transfers - Summer

Signings

Why I Signed Them

I decided to sign these players because they were mostly free agents and all of Championship quality. I'll go over each one now.
Matthew Briggs - Released by Fulham, being of Championship quality and with potential to be a good Premier League left back, I couldn't pass him up.
El-Hadji Diouf - Pele listed him as one of the best 100 footballers alive, now he is playing for three and a half grand a week after tax. It's funny how things turn out.
Faris Haroun - Capped by Belguim, and a class midfielder were two reasons why I brought Faris in. He has a lot to bring to the team and he should be a regular starter for us.
Sam Hutchinson - Sam came out of retirement to return to Chelsea, he was released and I snapped him up. The lad has determination, he came back from a supposed career ending injury to play football. Introducing a regular starter and our new vice-captain.
Jobi McAnuff - Jobi is experienced and his legs haven't given up on him yet. He will be capable of doing a job from the bench. But he will likely end up starting games when he is fit.
Chris Kirkland - Capped by England, experienced, free and talented. Kirkland will provide competition for Matt Gilks (when he is back from injury - SPOILER).
Jesse Lingard - Lingard will bring depth to a now filled attacking midfielder department. If there is a chance, I will bring him in permanently, but I can't see it happening.

Check back tomorrow for more signings!
Are you sure that's enough? ;) Only joking, some nice signings with a nice mix between youth and experience!
Really nice layout , good first story
Some good signings, good luck!
good luck mate, with some good signings there.
Walter - There are still a few more! May really be a Summer and Winter window into one. Depending on player performances the January window might be a quiet one.

Jord - Thanks for the feedback! Hope you enjoy the story.

Griffo and fzemdegs - Thanks, the majority of the signings are of Championship quality so it's good that the team are experienced while having a mix of youth in it.
