Why is there malware and adverts in GenieScout download?

I had to perform a system reset after various malware products were installed with GenieScout, deplorable behaviour. And now I'm trying to reinstall without the unwanted ad-ons, and I can't avoid at least something.
I avoid trolatunt, Iminent, and Movie Mode... but I can't avoid Plarium

So I won't be downloading what was a great tool, and quite frankly I'm disgusted that there would be such aggressive malware within this scouting tool. There's a difference between having advertising software that allows you to make money, and then allowing malware to be associated with your product that is so aggressive I need to perform a system reset. Disgusting.
I understand your frustration and I'm really sorry for the trouble this has caused you.

Unfortunately we don't control the offers and the ad agency we work with for this purpose (Somoto) sometimes they may introduce "evil" offers that can't be avoided if you want to continue with installation. This has happened like 3 times in the last year and following our user complaints we have requested from the ad agency to remove these bad offers. So I've just emailed them about this Plarium thing asking them to disable it asap.

I don't personally like these offers but they help the GS author generate money to make his efforts worthwhile and keep releasing this program for free. I've done some research on finding other ad agencies to work with on this, but it seems they all follow the same tactics with aggressive offers.

Anyway, thanks for your report. I'm hoping Somoto will remove Plarium very soon.
Thanks very much for the swift and sympathetic reply
Once Plarium's out the way I suspect (providing that my experience with Genie is good) I'll be donating once I have the free version up and running
I'll let you know once I hear from them regarding this matter.

About donating to Eugene, I must say that the "g" edition has an installer of its own which is entirely ad-free. Basically there are no banner ads and no bundled offers in it, it's pure GS with added functionality. I mean you don't need free version first.
Just got a reply from the ad agency saying they disabled the Plarium offer for us, so normally you shouldn't get this anymore.
install, spent next hour removing malware. why would anyone donate to someone who tries to install malware and trojans onto your pc?

is this a working business model?
@mazzyas: You must be trolling or lying. Did you notice that the last reply in the 2 topics you posted was like a year ago? There has to be a good reason for that lol

1) There are no more offers bundled with the public edition of Genie Scout 15 (as of 3 months ago). Older Genie Scout versions don't have offers (I think you're referring to the 2014 version). So either you didn't download the program from here (official site) or you got that shit from installing something else.

2) Donating to Eugene (GS author) will give you the "g" edition that has always been free from offers and ads in general.

Next time you'll try to use fancy words (like criminals and assholes) you'll get banned.
