Southapton have announced Today that Ronald Koeman has left the club after a reported argument happened over the last couple of hours. When Sky Sports News interviewed Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger, Krueger said"It is with great sadness that I the chairman of Southampton Football Club announce that this football club and Ronald Koeman have parted ways". He also went on to say that the only reason was because Koeman had no respect for the club and was affecting the team chemistry.
Good luck mate, interested to see how it all goes :)

DavidRoland: thanks and me too! ;)

Just three days after the Ronald Koeman departure of Southampton they have announced their u'21 coach Liam Elliot as their head coach but has not been handed the full job as he will share the responsibility with Southampton assistant manager Erwin Koeman. In an interview with a local newspaper Liam Elliot had this to say"I am delighted to have this opportunity. Me and Erwin (Koeman) have agreed to try and find players that are not only good now, but will be good in five years or so. We have looked at a few targets, including a young goalkeeper from the Serie A but i am not saying any names. But know this, I am not here to take part, I am here to take over!"
I can see my squad looking like this for most games. Although looking at signing a new GK, someone young because Boruc is a little old so looking for someone that can replace him and has a bright future.
The question on every Southampton fans mind for the last few days was who is the Serie A goalkeeper Elliot is interested in? Well in a recent interview Elliot himself said that Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin was the goalkeeper he was tracking but insists Genoa wanted to much for the young goalkeeper and that is why he pulled out of negotiations.

When asked if he was tracking another goalkeeper he replied"Inter 'keeper Francesco Bardi was a target of his but again was to expensive.

After the interview I held a meeting with the board. I asked for more funds towards transfers and they said yes so my transfer budget has been brought up to £16.2m.

It has came as shocking news to Southampton fans that Southampton Football Club have signed 20 year old German Goalkeeper Timo Horn from German club F.C Koln for a fee of £5.25m.

At his unveiling press conference Liam Elliot had this to say"I am very happy to announce my first of hopefully many signings for this club . I said I was after Mattia Perin and he would of cost twice the price I paid for Timo Horn. And in my opinion Horn was a very good bit of buisness"!

"I know the question will there be any more deals done this summer will be asked so i will answer that now and the answer is yes, there is still a few areas which need improvement but overall i am happy with the squad at the minute".
Southampton pre-season was a bit of a roller coaster as some results were good and some were bad. I was not overly happy with the results but in the very first friendly we played very well. Here are the results.

Southampton 5 - 1 Lemans F.C
Southampton 3 - 1 USJA
Southampton 5 - 0 Us Beacuis Oise
Southampton 2 - 0 B.Jerusalem
Southampton 1 -1 Levante
Southampton 0 - 2 FC Halifax
Southampton 1 - 1 Mallorca

So the first four were good but the last three were very disappointing.

Southampton manager Liam Elliot set to make his managerial debut against Aston Villa tomorrow at St Mary's Stadium. In the pre-match interview he said he has confidence in this Southampton side and believe that they can finish in the top half of the table as long as they keep playing consistently well.

This is the team I am going to be playing against Aston Villa. Gaston Ramirez picked up an injury while playing for Uruguay so James Ward Prowse will be replacing him.

Final score: Southampton 1 - 1 Aston Villa
Rodriguez (69) Luna (84)

Interesting game from us, we were by far the better side but could not finish our chances. Rickie Lambert had a really disappointing game but Tim Horn had a solid game despite conceding the late goal. So overall good performance but should have got the 3 points.

Southampton confirm signing of Dundee Utd player Ryan Gauld. Liam Elliot tells Sky Sports News and BBC sport that He rates Ryan Gauld Very highly and is one of the best young attacking midfielders around.

I picked up Gauld for £10m, which is a lot for a 17 year old but he will be an amazing player and when scouting him he had a 4 and a half star potential ability so I look forward to having him in my team!

Southampton vs Newcastle Squad overlook. I kept the same team from the Aston Villa game. I was going to start Ryan Gauld but his fitness is not that high so I put him on the bench and will most likely bring him on. I know we need these three points so i have switched up the tactis and told the lads to play more cautious as I don't want us playing to offensively and getting hit on the break.

Final Score: Southampton 0 - 1 Newcastle

Awful display from The lads, especially Tim Horn for the goal, beat at his near post! we need a few wins in a row now. Up next we have Leyton Orient in the Capital One Cup. Must win game!!
I have decided to let go of defender Jos Hoovield for a fee of £1.3m, hewasn't going to get played so it was best he moved on.

Here are the two line ups for the match against Leyton Orient. I have decided to start Ryan Gauld and Gaston Ramirez in the 3 attacking midfield position ahead of Jay Rodriguez and James Ward Prowse. Also Yoshida ahead of Dejan Loven and Calum Chambers in place of Nathaniel Clyne.

Also big transfer news, Fulham have accepted my loan offer for Dejagah. You are all probably wondering why I am trying to bring him to the club but the answer is depth! we need it, if we get Dejagah, we have 6 attacking midfield players capable of playing at the level we need. Here are the five we have currently: Ryan Gauld, Lallana, Jay Rodriguez, Gaston Ramirez and James Ward Prowse and then the sixth (hopefully) will be Ashkan Dejagah.

Final Score: Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient (AE)

This game was a nail biter, went all the way to penalties where we won 5-3. Yoshida got the headed goal for us and Kevin Lisbe got the goal for them. Not good enough from the lads this game should of been a walk in the park.
