It's time for Arsenal to start "Life after Wenger", I'll be using an updated database so the majority of recent transfers have been updated i.e Sanchez to Arsenal.

My main goals managing Arsenal will be :
  • Win the Premier League
  • Win the Champions League
  • Develop Young Players
  • Win the FA Cup
  • Score the most goals in the Premier League

I'll be updating this as i go along in the game, so stay tuned :)
Good Luck!

So I've signed my first couple of players while in charge at Arsenal. For a fee of £16.75m, I've signed Sven Bender from Borussia Dortmund. I feel like in order for my team to be successful i needed an established holding midfielder who can also slot into CM at any time.

I have also signed Mattia Destro from AS Roma for £17.00m, Even though he is a little pricy considering his ability, i feel that he can develop into a great player. I also think that Giroud can't cope upfront on his own and that Sanogo isn't capable yet, so that was the main reason behind this transfer.

I had also agreed a fee of £25m for Di Maria but he turned Arsenal down and instead joined PSG.

These two will be my only signings as i have spent my entire transfer budget on the pair. I will post my pre season results soon.

So I've just finished my first Pre season, here are the results.

Some key points to take from the Pre Season are :
  • Alexis Sanchez was brilliant, 3 MOTM awards.
  • Undefeated ;)
  • No Injuries.

I'm not too sure on how i will start the season as i haven't decided which tactic i will mainly use. So i am expecting a bumpy start.

Oh Boy !! Not the start I wanted

After a decent Pre Season, My first official match did not go to plan, I decided to use this formation which has worked well for me before.

Szczesny played really bad, his decision making was poor and the 3rd goal came from a misplaced pass by him.

Overall I am not happy with the performance, and i will be changing my starting formation for now until the team is more familiar with this formation.

West Bromwich Albion 1-3 Arsenal

Goal Scorers :
Morrison(44)
Oxlade-Chamberlain(3) Sanchez(46) Koscielny(67)

So Ramsey had a great match, his passing was brilliant and he had 1 assist to his name, Oxlade-Chamberlain scored after two minutes, Sanchez scored a lovely goal and Koscielny scored a header from a corner midway through the second half. Overall a good win after the Man City loss.

I trialed a new tactic and it turned out to be a good move, as it is a very attacking formation that relies on fast wide players who can break quickly. So possession isn't a priority with this formation. (Note the player ratings are not for the most recent match, they are from all matches played added up)

Being a Gunner I'm always interested in an Arsenal story! Unlucky on the shield but good start to he league!

Arsenal 2-2 Chelsea

Goals Scorers :
Ozil(28,60)
Oscar(20,41)

So another good performance from the team, we were very unlucky not to win as we had nearly double the shots at goal than Chelsea, Giroud even missed a sitter at the end which is disappointing, another bad thing from the game is the performance of Destro, he has been bad since signing and picked up an injury and is out for 9 to 14 days, Ramsey started but his passing was poor so i brought on Bender who played a big part in the second goal. But hands down Ozil was brilliant, 2 goals and a great passing display, everything went through him and it looks like i have found a formation that works well for this team.

I used the same formation i used against West Brom, like i said it doesn't focus on possession but high tempo play which gets the team forward fast. The only negative from this tactic is that Debuchy and Mertersacker keep getting caught off guard so i will look into that. Either way a a decent point.

Good stuff so far, just a few minor tweaks and your updates could look brilliant!

Review
So yet again I'm not happy with the CB'S and the RB, they are consistently poor and have let me down again, after an early goal and a 1-0 lead at halftime i was delighted, but when Negredo broke free of Koscielny and scored i knew i needed a change, so i brought on Wilshere and Cazorla, Cazorla was linking up well and we were pushing to take the lead until Wilshere lost possession and fouled Aguero in the box, Aguero stepped up and put City in front and from there they were to hard to catch especially since Wilshere could barely complete a pass.

Pros
  • Much better performance than the Community Shield match.
  • Gibbs was brilliant and scored a goal as well.
  • I have my team playing good counter attacking football

The only negatives so far has been the inconsistency of the players.

So after my first 3 games in charge it is the end of August and here is how the league table looks,
