Pardew sacked before Season even starts
Newcastle United have today revealed that Alan Pardew has departed the club. News comes after an apparent disagreement between Pardew and owner Mike Ashley, who has been quoted saying that this disagreement is the final straw of Pardew’s reign at the club. Ashley has continually supported Pardew through past incidents including a spat with Manuel Pellegrini which resulted in Pardew receiving surprisingly no punishment, however in another spat with David Meyler, in which Pardew headbutted Meyler, he received a 3 game stadium ban, a 4 game touchline ban and a hefty fine.
Pardew who was appointed in 2010, won both Manager of the Year and LMA Manager of the Year in the 2011/2012 season, due to him guiding them to European Football. However since then Newcastle have struggled to return to the European competitions or even hit the same highs in the league. Fans have been unhappy with the lack of top players joining the club with other key players departing in recent years like Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba to PSG and Chelsea respectively.
There are many names being bounded around for the job, with favourites for the job including Malky Mackay, Steve Bruce, Gianfranco Zola and Tony Pulis.
