While Most Families were sitting around the Christmas tree waiting for Santa Claus, Gary Monk was packing up his bags and going walking out the door on his beloved Swansea City. After a miserable start to the season, Swansea were left bottom of the table after only registering 10 points out of a possible 51 and despite Gary Monks love for the Welsh club, the realisation that the Swans could be replaced in the Premier League by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his men was too much for him to take. After a long meeting with the Swansea Board, Gary Monk was relieved of his duties and the Swans were without a Manager two days before a tricky tie against Liverpool, who were sitting 3rd in the League. Huw Jenkins had to take action and quick!

Swansea Appoint Unproven Adam Basilo as New Manager
Huw Jenkins has announced on the Swansea City website that young Adam Basilo will become their new Manager. At just 25, Basilo becomes the youngest ever manager in the Premier League but has insisted that he doesn’t want to be treated differently. “I may be young, but I’m not soft. I know how the system works and I will do anything I can to prevent Swansea from getting relegated this season. I don’t want to be treated any different than any of the other managers in the league , I want to be taken seriously”.
Tactics
Basilo has said that the philosophy at Swansea won’t be changed, but will be slightly adjusted to fit his need and requirements. Huw Jenkins was quoted while presenting Adam to the media that it’s the ‘Swansea way or no Way’!

Swansea Appoint Fede Castaños as their New Assistant Manager
With Adam in need of a new right hand man, he looked no further than former Barcelona and Racing Club coach Fede Castaños. Fede was involved in Pep Guadiola’s set up at Barcalona when they most famously won the Uefa Champions League. But when Pep left, Fede soon followed and has been living in New York where he has worked as an academy coach at New York Cosmos. Fede was quoted saying,”that it is a huge honour to be involved with a club such as Swansea and can’t wait to start another journey in his coaching career.
Former assistant manager Alan Curtis has been appointed as the new Head Coach.
Brazilian Legend Ronaldinho Gaucho Signs for Swansea
Swansea had to find a creative midfielder, and there’s no one bigger than the man himself, Ronaldinho Gaucho! The former Barcalona and AC Milan Star has been without a club for 5 months as he tries to find a league and a club that suit’s him. Ronaldinho has said that he had numerous offers on the table, but thought Swansea was the club for him.
