Jose Mourninho resigns as Chelsea FC Manager

Jose Mourinho announced this morning that he has officially resigned as Chelsea Manager.

Jose, who was appointed the head coach role last summer did not meet eye to eye with the Chelsea Board and was not happy with the club affairs.
Chelsea Assistant Manager Steve Holland has been put in charge on temporary basis.

Chelsea FC released a short statement at 8.30am on Tuesday morning saying: "Chelsea Football Club has announced that Jose Mourinho has left the club. The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role."

Steve Holland will now be in charge for until a new appointment has been made, beginning with season opener which begins in just under 1 and a half months time.

Not long since the departure of Mourinho, Chelsea has been looking for a new permanent manager with Steve Holland covering for temporary basis. Diego Simeone might be the favorite to join Chelsea but it is Steve Holland who wants the first deal to be made in the transfer window in the terms of Cesc Fabregas.

It is said that Fabregas has agreed upon the personal terms and the £35m deal can be completed within few days.

The 27-year-old had been told earlier in the summer that he was surplus to requirements in Spain, leading to speculation he was about to return to the Premier League.

Chelsea Board is in talks with many Football Managers but is yet to confirm the firm name to be held as the successor of Jose Mourinho. Chelsea interim manager Steve Holland confirms that he is just for the temporary basis and soon Chelsea will reveal their new Head Coach on permanent terms.

Diego Costa: Atletico Madrid Star Joins Chelsea for £32M

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has completed his transfer to Chelsea on a five-year deal.

The fee for the 25-year-old Spain international is understood to be £32m.

"I am very happy to sign for Chelsea," Costa said. "Everybody knows it is a big club in a very competitive league and I am very excited to get started in England."

It has been 3 weeks since the resignation of Jose Mourinho, but no news is yet out from the Blues Board as to who is to take the head coach seat.

Reports from all around the world state that Chelsea Board is in deep talks with several managers and is on wheels to find the necessary Manager for the club. Chelsea Football Club is famous for having Manager instability and it might be one of the reasons for this appointment delay. Till then, Chelsea Interim Manager Steve Holland is busy with the team meeting and training. Holland recently signed two new players, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa and is looking for the third target Brazilian Left Back Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid. Mourinho had been scouting this players since last year and Holland might bring this scouted player in to join his ex-Atletico Madrid team-mate Diego Costa.

In a huge breaking story today, Chelsea legend Steve Clarke has been confirmed as the new Chelsea manager - signing a four year contract with the North London giants.

Chelsea have confirmed that - despite rumours that they were in deep discussions with Atletico Madrid Manager Diego Simeone - Steve Clarke will replace Jose Mourinho as Chelsea manager.

Steve Clarke, now the ex-West Brom Assistant Manager is a Blue Legend and has served Chelsea as the Assistant Coach for 4 years from 2004 to 2008. After a stint in charge of the youth teams at Chelsea, Clarke was promoted to the position of assistant manager when Jose Mourinho was appointed manager in the summer of 2004. Clarke was a part of the coaching set-up which saw Chelsea win two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups over three seasons under Mourinho. During this period he completed his UEFA Pro Licence in 2006.
