Gerardo Martino has stepped down as Barcelona coach after they missed out on the Primera Division title in a 1-1 draw with champions Atletico Madrid. They reached "Copa del rey" final but lost to Real Madrid. They reached the Champions League quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by Atletico Madrid.

It was Barcelona's first trophy-less season since 2007-08.

Tata Martino:
I deeply regret not having achieved the goals that this club has always been set and achieved.

Barca's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta:
We are grateful to 'Tata'. This has been a tough season."

Martino had to navigate some rocky terrain this season. There was the Neymar scandal and the fallout that came from it, including the resignation of former president Sandro Rosell. Star Lionel Messi missed nearly 2 months of action in Winter
I am wishing you good fortunes on your first FM Scout story Magic.

According to reports in Spain, the current Celta Vigo coach is the number one choice to take over at Camp Nou from Tata, who left Catalunya after a trophyless season.

The Vigo coach- who made over 300 appearances for Barcelona scoring 109 goals- made a good job last season with Celta Vigo finishing 9th just below teams like Valencia and Real Sociedad.

Former Spanish international Enrique, took his first steps in management with the club's'B' before leaving for Roma in 2011.

According to spanish media, the current Borussia Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp is another rumoured replacement of the Argentine.

An interesing one is Xavi Hernandez. The current Barcelona captain is also rumoured. The 34 year old might be a good replacement. He has the respect of the teammates and he might bring Guardiola days back.

The playmaker was rumoured earlier this season to a move to Qatar, but he is set to stay at Camp Nou, at least one more season.
