Luxury AP problem

I'm having an issue with my Arsenal side. On the positive side, Iæve managed to put together quite the squad and I'm doing fairly well. The one point of improvement, though, is my advanced playmaker. The players aren't the problem - I have the luxury of choosing between Isco and Ozil - so the problem must lie with me...

The problem is that my AP rarely ever plays very well and gets high ratings in matches. Which leads me to wonder if I am doing something that hinders them in performing. My starting line-up usually is something like this:

----B(autom)-------CB(D)------CB(D)-------B(autom)----
Montoya/Chambers--Balanta----Bartra--------Digne------

-----------------BWM(S)---------DLP(D)----------------
------------Verratti/Bender--Ramsey/Wilshere----------

---RDM(A)---------------AP(S)----------------IF(O)----
Sanchez/Walcott-------Isco/Ozil-------Sterling/Shaqiri

---------------------FS(O)----------------------------
--------------Aboubakar/Welbeck-----------------------

I usually play control/flexible, high pressing, short passing, play wide, work ball into box, be more expressive. I have my AP on support duty so as to balance an otherwise very offensive forward part of my team. I also don't want him wandering into the way of other players, but rather stay on the edge of the box and distribute.

Diagnostics, anyone? How can I make more of my AP?
