Grimaldi Forum at Monaco hosted today the annual ceremony of the UEFA Champions League group stage draw with a panel of president Michel Platini, former captain and current assistant manager of Real Madrid, Fernando Hierro, and Manchester United legend Paul Scholes.
The 32 clubs, 22 of which qualified automatically and ten of whom won through from the play-offs, were splitted into eight groups of four teams each.

GROUP A
BARCELONA, GALATASARY, CSKA MOSCOW, LEGIA WARSAW

Group A has been quite kind to La Liga runners-up, Barcelona, who have been drew with Turkish giants, Galatasary, and Russian Premier League winners, CSKA Moscow and lastly is the group's underdogs, Legia Warsaw. Barcelona is expected to cruise through to the knockout round easily with Galatasary and CSKA Moscow battle for the second place while Legia is to be beaten by the other three teams.

GROUP B
BAYERN MUNICH, MANCHESTER CITY, ATHLETIC BILBAO, LUDOGORETS

Group B has shown us more competition with one of the hardest groups drawn this year, facing last season's semi-finalists Bayern Munich with Premier League champions, Manchester City, who both are the leading candidates to qualify however Athletic Bilbao, winning Porto in the play-off to qualify and are anticipated to make the life harder for Bayern and Man City and the last team in the group is Ludogorets who have been handed a tough draw in their first Champions League campaign ever.

GROUP C
CHELSEA, NAPOLI, LEVERKUSEN, STRØMSGODSET IF

The third group has drawn last season semi-finalists and English giants, Chelsea, with Napoli and Leverkusen who are joined by Strømsgodset IF. Chelsea should not struggle to qualify while Napoli and Leverkusen will fight for the second place as both are pretty much even and Strømsgodset would only want to have a decent campaign and maybe to defy the odds by reaching to the 3rd place, leading to Europa League's last 32 teams.

GROUP D
PSG, ROMA, SLB, ANDERLECHT

Group D is certainly one of the toughest teams, named by many as 'Group of Death' when oil-financed Paris Saint-Germain is facing Seria A side, Roma, and Primeira Liga title holders, Benfica, and Anderlecht. Laurent Blanc's team is heavy favorites to advance but trips to Roma and Lisbon would require them to play their best to defeat the two with Anderlecht's hopes for spot in Europa League is a long shot.

GROUP E
LIVERPOOL, SCHALKE, BASEL, STEAUA BUCHAREST

Premier League's runners-up, Liverpool, have made a comeback to Champions League after missing out for four years and have been handed a tricky group with Schalke, Basel and Steaua.
Schalke has the privilege of youth with experience while Basel has experience with beating English teams, such as Chelsea and Manchester United and Steaua's only chance is to reach for the 3rd place, advancing them to the first knockout round of Europa League.

Group F
ATLÉTICO MADRID, BORUSSIA DORTMUND, OLYMPIAKOS, RED BULL SALZBURG

Group F has brought us a very interesting draw, despite last season's finalists Atlético and the finalists of two years ago, Dortmund, are huge favorites to qualify out of the group, Olympiakos has the chance to shock their rivals with a huge boost from their fans at home games and Red Bull Salzburg can challenge the Greek side for Europa League spot.

GROUP G
ARSENAL, SHAKHTAR, AJAX, AS MONACO

This group is also a hard group with Arsenal have been marked as the favorite however they need to show a very high level of play while facing their opponents as Shakhtar, Ajax and Monaco will not make life easier for veteran Arsène Wenger and his boys as Ajax is a very experienced and talented team while Monaco is making its return to the UEFA Champions League group stage since playing in the final of 2004\2005.

GROUP H
REAL MADRID, JUVENTUS, SPORTING LISBON, BE?IKTA?

The last group, also known as Group H, has drawn us the toughest groups and the ultimate 'Group of Death' with Champions League title holders, Real Madrid, is to face Seria A winners, Juventus and the two underdogs of the group, Sporting Lisbon and Be?ikta?, who both can surprise Los Blancos and the Bianconeri. It is very interesting to see whether Real Madrid and Juventus reach their expectations to qualify for the next stage, the knockout round.

I'm curious how far you can come in the champions league, I'm sure going to follow it!
Could be an interesting three-way race in your group. Good luck!
That's an interesting draw
Cappy13 I: Thank you.
RicardoKishnaajacied: I hope you will like the outcome then.
Justice: Yeah, about that...what is three-way? ;)
Cappy13 II: Indeed it is.

Atlético de Madrid launched their 2014\2015 season very successfully with a title in two-legged victory over Real Madrid and also six points out of six available in two league games in August, as they humiliated Rayo Vallecano in their own stadium and beating Eibar 3-0 at the Estadio Vicente Calderón.

But none believed the next month would be even better for the Rojiblancos as they picked all the points available this month in La Liga and Champions League, completing a winning streak of 10 games which is undoubtedly one of the best season start for the club, especially with a debut season for the manager.

The fans seem to be optimistic about the chances to repeat last season's success and some even dare to hope that Bernd Schuster will lead the club to heights they have never seen before but only time will tell. For now, the fans have to enjoy the brilliant football their team have shown in September.

REAL MADRID 0-1 ATLÉTICO MADRID (LA LIGA)
TURAN
JAN OBLAK (9.2)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-3-2-1): Oblak, Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Siqueira(57'), Gabi(C), Tiago, Koke, Turan, Griezmann, Torres.
Substitutes: Moyà, Gámez, Hernández, Giménez, Ansaldi(57'), Saúl, Romero.

The first fixture in the month has brought us madrileño derby once again for the third time since the season began, as Atlético won the last two games in Supercopa de España on the way to the title. This league match happened at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu with a bit more than 80,000 fans and Pedro Pérez Montero has been chose to referee the tensed clash of Madrid.

The clubs featured a lacking squad as injuries forced them to register youth players with Theo Hernández appeared on the bench of Atlético yet did not make his debut as Mario Mandzukic, Stephan El Shaarawy and Paulo Dybala has been ruled out for this match however Diego Godín has recovered from his month-long injury and was included in the starting line-up for the first time this season. Real Madrid had their own list of injured players, consisting of Keylor Navas, Raphaël Varane and Karim Benzema.

Despite the possession of Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid were more dangerous at the attack as they piled pressure on Jan Oblak's goal however the young goalkeeper has displayed one of the best goalkeeping performances the stadium has ever seen, saving multiple chances of Real Madrid.

On the other side of the pitch, the attack of Los Colchoneros did not work a lot but few opportunities created through great counter-attacks but Casillas made sure the result do not change, only to be injured on the 62th minute and he was substituted with Sergio Cabalenas.

Atlético tested the debutante goalkeeper while Real Madrid tried to break the solid defence of their opponent and the game-changing moment arrived few minutes before extra time with Arda Turan shooting in a cross of Ansaldi. Even Cristiano Ronaldo could not help his team get back in the game and Atlético Madrid has been on the winning side of this match for the third time this season, twice in Real's stadium.

RED BULL SALZBURG 1-3 ATLÉTICO MADRID (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)
KOKE, TIAGO, CORREA
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN (8.3)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-1-2-1-2): Oblak, Juanfran, Godín, Miranda, Siqueira(73'), Romero, Koke(63'), Gabi(C), Griezmann, Correa, Torres(74').
Substitutes: Moyà, Gámez, Giménez, Ansaldi(73'), Tiago(63'), Dybala(74'), Jiménez.

The Red Bull Arena hosted a match between home team, Red Bull Salzburg, and Champions League runners-up, Atlético de Madrid, as Schuster and his players picked up a pretty easy victory.
The La Liga champions has had a clear domination over the game, checking Alexandre Walke's awareness as a goalkeeper who had a pretty average game, conceding three times from the legs of Koke, Tiago and Ángel Correa.

The first half finished in a 1-1 draw as Griezmann passed into space and Koke hit the ball past the goalkeeper however a cross of Ankersen hit Godín who shifted the ball into his own goal with his head and equalised the score.

The second half was completely dominated by Schuster's players as they shut Salzburg from shooting once and they have achieved a win too with Tiago's goal coming two minutes after he subsituted the first goalscorer, Koke, when he shot in a free-kick cross of Griezmann who recorded his second assist in the game. And the last goal came as a great team play was finished by a close range finish of the Argentinian wonderkid, Ángel Correa.

ATLÉTICO MADRID 3-0 CELTA VIGO (LA LIGA)
DYBALA, TURAN, SIQUEIRA
GUILHERME SIQUEIRA (8.5)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-1-2-2-1): Oblak, Gámez, Giménez, Miranda, Siqueira(77'), Romero, Tiago, Gabi(C, 70'), Turan, Griezmann(85'), Dybala.
Substitutes: Moyà, Godín, Ansaldi(77'), Saúl, Koke(70'), Correa(85'), Torres.

Atlético Madrid came into the league match against Celta Vigo with two victories in this month against Real Madrid and Red Bull Salzburg which had them confident of defeating Celta and it did happen as a great performance of Siqueira had them winning 3-0.

Godín, Koke and Torres has had been excluded from the starting line-up and Juanfran has removed from the squad, allegedly due to rotation to avoid fatigue at later stages while Gámez, Giménez, Tiago and Dybala earned a place in the eleven.

On the pitch, it was one-team who played as Celta Vigo could not do a thing against a stronger team in the form of Atlético that came first on the scoreboard on the 12nd minute as Paulo Dybala beat Celta Vigo's goalkeeper from inside the box.

Six minutes later and Turan joined Dybala on the scoreboard, scoring into an open goal after a pass of Griezmann who recorded his third assist in two games. The game calmed down and the last goal came fifteen minutes before full-time whistle when Siqueira scored a rebound and put the final resut as 3-0 for his team.

ALMERÍA 0-3 ATLÉTICO MADRID (LA LIGA)
GABI (x2), TORRES
GABI (9.2)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-1-2-2-1): Oblak, Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Siqueira(85'), Romero, Gabi(C, 85'), Koke, Turan(72'), Griezmann, Torres.
Substitutes: Moyà, Giménez, Ansaldi(85'), Saúl(85'), Tiago, Correa, Dybala(72').

Atlético Madrid faced Almería in the fifth gameweek as the leading team in the table with four victories out of four matches, while Almería has been on a great run with ten points out of possible twelve but Atlético has done the job and broke the un-beaten run in four league games of the southern side club.

The result was 3-0 as Los Colchonores recorded a third game they score three goals and second league game they win 3-0, following the 3-0 against Celta Vigo in the previous gameweek.
Almería tried their best at stopping Bernd Schuster and his players but it was the team's captain, Gabi, who fired a shot into the top corner from 10m in the 4th minute.

The captain completed a brace twenty-one minutes later as he rifled a shot into the other side of the net from just outside the box, an absolute screamer for the veteran midfielder.
Fernando Torres has finished the job with his own great goal, blasting in a shot from a close-range in the 54th minute.

ATLÉTICO MADRID 2-0 SEVILLA (LA LIGA)
TORRES (x2)
FERNANDO TORRES (8.8)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-1-2-2-1): Oblak, Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Siqueira, Romero, Gabi(C, 45'), Koke(81'), Turan(81'), Griezmann, Torres.
Substitutes: Moyà, Giménez, Ansaldi, Saúl(81'), Tiago(45'), Correa(81'), Dybala.

15th placed Sevilla has travelled to Madrid to face perfect Atlético de Madrid in what once had been a very competitive and excited game but this match did not reach the expectations and heights as before when Atlético did not struggle against the disappointing team of Unai Emery.

Los Rojiblancos has been helped to the victory by a brace of club icon and fan favorite, Fernando Torres, whose number of goals is now set on four so far. El Niño used the huge confidence boost from the supporters to score only three minutes in the game when his position was great as Griezmann crossed in and he only had to net the ball.

The second goal came in as quite a surprise as Tiago tried a volley from outside the box however it reached Torres in the box who scored with ease, and the refree was correct when he did not call it an offside despite suspicions and the demands of Sevilla's players.

ATLÉTICO MADRID 3-1 OLYMPIAKOS (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)
DYBALA (x3)
PAULO DYBALA (9.4)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-2-2-2): Oblak, Juanfran, Miranda(56'), Godín(C), Siqueira, Romero, Tiago, Turan, Griezmann(65'), Torres(70'), Dybala.
Substitutes: Moyà, Giménez(56'), Ansaldi(70'), Gabi, Koke, El Shaarawy(65'), Correa.

The second game in Group F has brought Olympiakos to Vicente Calderón against Atlético, which is on the horse right now. Despite an attempt to defy the odds, eventually Olympiakos gave up and were run rugged by Argentinian striker, Paulo Dybala, who starred with a first hattrick in his new club.

Franco Jara has shocked the fans at the stadium as he seized on lack of concentration in Atlético's defence to give his team a surprising 1-0 lead early in the game. Paulo Dybala waited one minute to equalise the score on the way to a brilliant performance by the striker as Torres found him free in the box and he slotted it home.

Siqueira advanced free on the left wing and provided another great cross however it passed the goalkeeper and went into the net, only to be pushed in by Paulo Dybala who completed a brace and led his team to a come-back. But another remarkable incident in the game was not a goal and pretty unfortunate for Los Rojiblancos as Giménez was sent off in a red-card, only fourteen minutes after coming on.

Paulo Dybala scored from inside the box and shatter the hopes of Olympiakos' fans for a draw or a comeback against ten-men opponent. A fantastic game for the kid who carried his team to a tenth win in their winning streak.

Player of the Month

Guilherme Siqueira has been great for Atlético Madrid throughout the month, contributing a goal and two assists. Not only the support he provides in the attack from the left wing but he has been an integral part of the solid defence who conceded only two goals in six games which must of pleased Bernd Schuster, the team's manager.

October Report

Following a brilliant start to the season which has been certainly written as one of the best season start for the club with ten wins out of ten matches in all competitions, Atlético Madrid did not fail to impress throughout October as they won all of their four fixtures in the month, including a narrow victory over Valencia at Mestalla and a home win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

The media and fans are now believing Atlético is capable of challenging the giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona, for the La Liga title for the second consecutive time as they picked nine wins from nine games played including a prestigious triumph over bitter rivals, Real Madrid, in an away game at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

VALENCIA 0-1 ATLÉTICO MADRID (LA LIGA)
TORRES
ENZO PÉREZ (7.7)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-5-1): Moyà, Juanfran, Godín, Giménez, Siqueira, Turan(51'), Gabi(C), Romero(45'), Koke, Griezmann, Torres.
Substitutes: Oblak, Gámez, Ansaldi, Tiago, Correa(51'), El Shaarawy, Dybala(45').

Atlético Madrid travelled to Valencia to play at the Mastella stadium against local team, Valencia whose season started decently as they sit in the seventh place with tweleve points out of possible eighteen, and on the other hand Atlético started spectacularly as they picked all the possible eighteen points.

Bernd Schuster made two changes in his starting line-up as Moyà has been given a chance to make his debut while Oblak who has been great so far is given a rest and Miranda failed late fitness test following a training injury earlier this week and Giménez appeared instead, along with vice-captain Diego Godín in the defence.

Approximately 52,000 fans occupied the Mastella and were left disappointed as they witnessed Atlético picking up three points despite playing their weakest game in the season as the match did not raise to expected heights however a great team play in the 79th minute, finished by a close range shot of Fernando Torres from within the box has made the difference between a goalless draw or a narrow win over stubborn opponent.

ATLÉTICO MADRID 2-1 ESPANYOL (LA LIGA)
GRIEZMANN
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN (9.2)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-4-2 Diamond): Moyà, Juanfran, Godín, Giménez(80'), Siqueira, Gabi(C), Koke, Griezmann, Turan(76'), Torres, Dybala.
Substitutes: Oblak, Gámez(80'), Ansaldi, Romero, Tiago, El Shaarawy, Correa(76'), El Shaarawy.

Atlético moved on to their next game this month against 8th placed Espanyol whose only hope is to score early and defend against Los Colchoneros who enjoy a very successful time now in the league and europe, beating Valencia 1-0 in the previous fixture.

Moyà and Giménez retained their place in the eleven with an impressive performance last week however Dybala has made a return to the starting line-up and will play along Fernando Torres up front.

Atlético's strong mentality along an excellent performance of Antoine Griezmann who helped his team to a win with a brace following an early lead of the Catalonian side from the 11st minute as Sergio García had the ball bounced to his legs off the post and he tucked it in easily.

Griezmann's strong shot from within the box has beat Espanyol's goalkeeper and the score is now even, six minutes before half-time but it was not over yet as only three minutes later, Griezmann has done it again. Espanyol's defence cleared out a ball straight to Griezmann's foot who stood outside the box and volleyed it home, Kiko Casilla could not save this beauty and the comeback has been achieved.

The second half was not as exciting as first and none of the teams had any chances to score and the game eventually finished in another narrow win for Los Rojiblancos who has preserved the first place for another week.

ATLÉTICO MADRID 2-0 BORUSSIA DORTMUND (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)
EL SHAARAWY, MIRANDA
GABI (7.7)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-4-2 Diamond): Moyà, Juanfran, Godín(79'), Miranda, Siqueira, Gabi(C), Koke, El Shaarawy(74), Griezmann, Torres(74'), Dybala.
Substitutes: Oblak, Gámez(79'), Ansaldi, Romero, Tiago, Correa(74'), Mandzukic(74').

Group F in Champions League has brought us their best game tonight as Atlético Madrid hosted Borussia Dortmund in the Vicente Calderón Stadium for a match who many have been looking for.
The finalists who lost for their bitter rivals, Bayern Munich, in the 2013 Wembley final has played against last year's final losers who lost to their local rivals, Real Madrid, at Lisbon in the first derby Champions League final ever.

Both teams played great throughout the match however a three-minute blitz, between 30th to 33rd minutes, of Atlético has awarded them the victory and the group's first place.
The first goal has came thirty minutes in the game as Siqueira crossed into the box and found El Shaarawy who knocked it into the corner and went on to celebrate his first goal for the team in his first start.

Atlético's supporters did not have to wait long because they celebrated the next goal of their team just three minutes later as Juanfran crossed from the right wing and Miranda powered a header past Weidenfeller and the chants of his name has echoed through the stadium.

Marco Reus and Mkhitaryan were helpless against the solid defence of Rojiblancos and the second yellow card Sven Bender has been shown which had him sent off did not help his team and Atlético came out as winners deservedly.

GETAFE 0-2 ATLÉTICO MADRID (LA LIGA)
MANDZUKIC, SIQUEIRA (PEN)
JAN OBLAK (8.6)

Atlético Madrid XI (4-2-2-2): Oblak, Juanfran(79'), Godín, Miranda, Siqueira, Romero, Gabi(C), Turan, Griezmann(79'), Torres(79'), Mandzukic.
Substitutes: Moyà, Giménez, Ansaldi(79'), Koke(79'), Correa, El Shaarawy(79'), Dybala.

Atlético Madrid has travelled to Getafe to visit Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Pérez for a match against local side, Getafe CF, who has been previously managed by the current manager of Los Colchoneros, Bernd Schuster. The German expressed his feelings and admitted his excitement in a press conference prior to the clash however he did not give his ex any favors, seeing his team racking another three points to a total of twenty-seven points in nine games.

Oblak was given his spot as a goalkeeper in the eleven and awarded Schuster with a brilliant performance, earning him the Man of the Match title. Mandzukic came back to the starting line-up after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injuries and scored the first goal in the game on the 35th minute when he hit a well-timed close range finish.

Mandzukic has been responsible of the second goal as a Getafe defender shoved him in the box and Jesús Gil Manzano pointed to the penalty spot. Guilherme Siqueira took the penalty and doubled the lead with an accurate shot to the left corner.

The captain, Gabi, is the heart and the engine of Atlético Madrid as he is playmaking from his place in the centre midfield along with team-mate Koke. Gabi did not score or assist this month however he has been brilliant as he has been involved in all the attacks of the team, from team plays to counter attacks and he also set an very good average rating of 7.45.

Raúl Jiménez expressed his disappointment of being left out of the squad ever since Bernd Schuster replaced fan favorite and fellow Latin, Diego Simeone, in an interview on a vacation in his country and his desire to leave the club who left some surprised as he came on only this summer.

The 23-year-old is known for playing as a secondary striker, usually with a goalscorer partner up front, has signed for the La Liga winners this summer for a reported fee in the region of £11M from America, where he scored 36 goals in 96 appearences.

The Mexican international striker has said he is dissatisfied and is seeking a move, following an one-on-one conversation with his manager who assured him he's surplus to his requirements, falling behind Croatian target-man Mario Mandzukic, wonderkid Paulo Dybala and club icon Fernando Torres in the rotation for the striker position.

Jiménez has admitted his frustration in the interview, "The thought of being continuously excluded from the squad has not even crossed my mind, to be honest."

"I have had few clubs interested in my services however it was Simeone who convinced me to sign for Atlético, along the reputation of growing great strikers, in the form of Fernando Torres, Sergio Agüero and recently departing Diego Costa," said Jiménez.

A source at Vicente Calderón Stadium has confirmed the news of transfer-listed Raúl Jiménez, following a mutual consent between current Head Coach, Bernd Schuster and the striker, "Bernd has never gave him a chance, he ruled him out as soon as he arrived. It was obvious Mandzukic and Torres would be first options and the arrival of Paulo Dybala has blew the chances and hopes of Jiménez to have any minutes on the pitch."

"I have had a talk with the coach regarding the situation and he explained me his reasons, as I am the fourth best forward in the squad plus the three-foreign players rule has restricted him from registering hence my only chance is in Spanish Cup and I need a first-team football to further my development, thus we agreed a move would be better for both sides," is another quote of the Mexican footballer.

According to reports, the capital city side demand a transfer fee of about £6M for the un-settled striker, who is due to depart the un-beaten La Liga side in the up-coming transfer window on January while A.C Milan is one of the favorite teams to take in Jiménez.
