Nigel Pearson Sacked After Training Ground Bust-Up

Reports are coming out of Leicester City Football Club that they have relieved Nigel Pearson of his managerial duties with the Club. The news breaks on the back of the Foxes successful Championship winning campaign & many fans will be feeling incredibly shocked based on tonight's announcement.

The Club have released a statement thanking Pearson for everything he has done of the Club but stated an incident they cannot overlook forced the dismissal of the former Sheffield Wednesday player.

It is believed Pearson spoke out of turn with a number of players and some physical altercation occurred, ultimately Leicester City must now prepare for life back in the Premier League for the 1st time in 10 years without the man who got them there.

We will bring you more on this story and any information on whom is believed to take over at the King Power Stadium when we know more.
Good start man, keep it up

Fans Bewildered As Local Manager Appointed At Leicester

After the decision to end Nigel Pearson's reign at the King Power Stadium, Leicester City fans were talking up which big name could possibly be inline for the job. However Leicester City's owners have thrown a huge curve ball with their appointment of virtually unknown Local Manager Luke Ryan.

Ryan is former Sunday League Footballer who was tragically injured 3 years ago, which ended his playing career, for the last 2 years though he has been managing smaller sides trying to earn his way. After applying for his boyhood team when the position opened, surely with tongue in cheek, he received the shock of his life after being approved by the Club for interview.

Fast forward to today and he finds himself managing a Premier League club, this is a monumental decision which could have huge ramifications if it fails. Many fans have taken to social media to voice their disbelief and indifference to the appointment.

Ryan spoke to the media in his first press conference and was a defiant figure towards his critics. " We all have the start somewhere in this sport, I've been fortunate enough to be trusted with this role and being a boyhood Leicester fan, this is the greatest day of my life."

"I know that people out there don't know me and fans will be putting immense pressure on myself and the owners based on this appointment. I will make one promise and that is I promise to put everything into this job & try give us the Leicester City we all want to see."

The owners also weighed in on their decision to appoint Ryan saying, "Leicester City fans have always been nothing but respectful and honest towards how we run this club, we understand that choosing a virtual unknown has raised eyebrows but we believe Luke has the drive and ambition to surprise everyone. We look forward to seeing Leicester City in the Premier League."

The Season is around 4 weeks away and with pre-season friendlies set to begin, Luke Ryan has the task of his life ahead of him. Can he prove critics wrong and keep his beloved Foxes up or will this all end before it really begins? This should be quite a season!

So with roughly 5 weeks to go until the Barclay's Premier League season gets underway, there is clearly a lot of pressure on me to turn my beloved Leicester into a mainstay in this division. The owners have given me their backing and around £9 million to spend in the transfer market if I so wish.

There is a good blend of ability and experience within the team but an addition or two may not be a bad idea, I will take the time to assess as we move into the opening fixtures of this month, we have 3 games ahead and all are friendlies, so a good chance to see what the squad can offer.

(F) San Jose (A) - We open the pre-season campaign against MLS opposition
(F) Chivas USA (A) - We stay stateside to play Chivas before heading back to Europe
(F) De Graafschap (A) - July is rounded off against a Dutch 2nd Division side

Pre-Season Friendly
vs. San Jose (Won 2-0)

Leicester recorded a comfortable opening victory in their pre-season friendlies with a 2-0 win against MLS side San Jose. Goals either side of half time first from Andrej Kramaric and then Riyad Mahrez were enough on a warm afternoon in the states.

Pre-Season Friendly
vs. Chivas USA (Drew 3-3)

The Foxes completed their games in America with a hard fought draw against Chivas. The MLS took an early lead through Kelly Quimby before Andrej Kramaric leveled 8 minutes before half time. Robert Huth would put Leicester ahead with a bullet header 6 minutes after the leveler from Kramaric, however on the brink of the break Chivas themselves equalized Graham Droze, 2-2 it finished at the break.

After the restart Chivas took the advantage and thanks to a calamitous error from Kasper Schmeichel, led after Agustin Pelletieri's cross wriggled past the Dane at the front post. Leicester managed to steal a draw though as Kramaric was brought down 15 minutes from time, the Croatian subsequently stepped up to hammer the spot kick home & the match ended 3-3.

Pre-Season Friendly
vs. De Graafschap (Won 5-1)

Back on European soil Leicester City made easy work of Dutch 2nd Division side De Graafschap. There were 5 separate players on the Foxes score sheet as Riyad Mahrez, Leonardo Ulloa, Ritchie De Laet, Andrej Kramaric & Wes Morgan all rubber stamped this winning display.

De Graafschap replied in the 2nd half through Santy Hulst but the scoreline was well beyond his side at that time.

Andrej Kramaric showed he knows where the goal is this month

http://i60.tinypic.com/20sgeg1.jpg

There were definitely some positives to take from this month, after bagging some impressive wins and scoring a good quantity of goals, our attacking play looks very encouraging. A special mention must go to Andrej Kramaric who could be a key player for goals if we want to stay up this season, I hope he proves to be the super signing I know he can be.

Ultimately though we need to work on some of our defensive positioning, the goals we conceded were farcical at times and I need to weed that out before we play opposition when it actually matters.

I'm looking forward to the start of the season.

So this was the time that every football fan up and down the country had been waiting for, the beginning of a new season. There will pressure on players and managers all over the world for many different reasons & I obviously will be one of the most scrutinized.

I'm in this job to prove people wrong and take my club to where they deserve to be, this will be a huge challenge but I'm more than up for it. The fixtures this month are huge and it will be testing opening to our campaign.

(F) Bromley (A) - We travel to Conference South side Bromley in a friendly
(F) Philadelphia (A) - The Pre-Season campaign is rounded off back in the states
(BPL) Arsenal (H) - The Premier League begins & title hopefuls Arsenal are in town
(BPL) QPR (A) - We then travel to London to face fellow promoted side Queens Park Rangers
(COC2R) Millwall (H) - The Capital One Cup starts with the Trotters visiting the King Power
(BPL) Everton (H) - August is rounded off with a tough home game against the Toffee's

http://oi60.tinypic.com/28ti5ab.jpg

Pre-Season Friendly
vs. Bromley (Won 6-2)

Leicester produced a dominant display at Conference South side Bromley bagging 6 goals in a one sided affair. Andrej Kramaric scored a brace whilst Leonardo Ulloa, Riyad Mahrez, Marc Albrighton & Jamie Vardy all scored to round of a good day for the Foxes.

Bromley replied with goals either side of half time through Louis Dennis & Jamie Slabber.

Pre-Season Friendly
vs. Philadelphia (Drew 2-2)

Leicester ended their pre-season with a frustrating draw against Philadelphia. Leonardo Ulloa had given the Foxes an early lead but a brace from Kieran Avila saw the MLS side lead at the break. Andrej Kramaric restored parity 10 minutes into the 2nd half but the game soon fizzled out and played to a draw.

Barclay's Premier League
vs. Arsenal (Won 2-0)

Leicester City made a dream return to Premier League life with a superb win against Arsenal at the King Power Stadium. Matty James opened the scoring 6 minutes before the interval with a well placed strike, the Foxes showed tremendous organization to hold off the Arsenal attack in the second half.

An incisive break then secured 3 points for the Foxes as Riyad Mahrez played in Andrej Kramaric to round Ospina in the Arsenal goal and bag a debut goal for the Croatian.

Barclay's Premier League
vs. QPR (Drew 4-4)

An added time equalizer from Charlie Austin robbed Leicester of back to back Premier League wins at Loftus Road. It proved to be an early contender for game of the season as Andrej Kramaric put the Foxes in front with 5 minutes played, QPR would equalize from the penalty spot after a questionable foul from Esteban Cambiasso, Eduardo Vargas converted for the home side.

In the second half both defenses had a nightmare as both teams shared 6 goals in a frantic 45 minutes. Leicester pulled ahead in a 15 minute spell as Kramaric bagged his second before David Nugent applied a fine finish to give Leicester a 3-1 lead. 4 minutes later though Yun Suk-Young put the game on a knife edge as he scored a well placed header from a corner.

Adel Taarabt made things all square after being played in by a knock down from Charlie Austin, the Moroccan's well placed effort trickled past Kasper Schmeichel to stun Leicester. However bang on the 90th minute the Foxes thought they'd won it as Mahrez broke down the right, he fed the ball across goal & Kramaric slotted home for his hat-trick and believed winner.

The linesman put up his board for 5 minutes added time and with 4 minutes of that time played it looked all over, however a late free kick from Vargas was dropped onto the foot of Charlie Austin who curled the ball past Schmeichel to see an incredible game end all square.

Capital One Cup 2nd Round
vs. Millwall (Lost 3-2)

Luke Ryan experienced his first loss as Leicester manager seeing his side crash out of the Capital One Cup. Ryan made 9 changes to his side and it appeared to show as Millwall showed fine resolve to battle back for a huge win.

David Nugent opened the scoring on 7 minutes before Dan Harding leveled proceedings 11 minutes later with a fine header. Danny Drinkwater put the Foxes back in front with a thunderous strike just outside the area and it proved to be enough to lead at the break.

However in the second period Leicester capitulated defensively as Paris Cowan-Hall drew the Championship side level with a well placed shot before Richard Chaplow bundled in a corner 15 minutes from time. Ryan through on Kramaric, Mahrez & Ulloa but his side were unable to force the game into extra-time.

Barclay's Premier League
vs. Everton (Won 1-0)

Leicester continued to show amazing battling spirit as they ground another big win at home to Everton. Andrej Kramaric continued his fine scoring form with the opener on 8 minutes, it ultimately proved the winner as Leicester dug in & showed they were here not just on merit.

Andrej Kramaric bagged an impressive 5 goals this month

http://oi60.tinypic.com/20sgeg1.jpg

What a start to the season this proved to be. We bagged ourselves some huge results particularly in the league against the likes of Arsenal and Everton. These were going to be tough games and to come away with 3 points and clean sheets in both is outstanding.

The QPR game was freaky match to watch, we were by and large the better side and could of easily of had more goals than the 4 we scored. However the disappointing aspect is our defending for the goals we conceded, we cannot afford to be so sloppy despite our good start.

The defeat to Millwall is my fault ultimately, I made a lot of changes to a winning team and in the end it proved the downfall. I will go on record to say though, that with us winning 2-1 and to let it slip, is very poor. I still had confidence the players I put out had enough to overcome the opposition that day.

Anyway we'll take the positives and negatives into the next month & look to build and improve on them. This is still very early doors and I'm sure there will be many more twists to come!
http://i59.tinypic.com/141libs.jpg
So after an encouraging opening month we head into September with some momentum on our side, every game in this league will be a challenge because everyone is fighting for something. We picked up some big wins last month but also we showed some defensive frailties which I've attempted to address on the training pitch.

The Premier League takes the main focus this month as we have 3 games to contend with. A chance to try and keep our form up & build ever closer to the points safety mark.

(BPL) Burnley (A) - Things open up with a trip to fellow promoted side Burnley
(BPL) West Ham United (H) - The Hammers visit the King Power looking for points
(BPL) Stoke City (A) - September is rounded off with a tough trip to Stoke

http://i60.tinypic.com/28ti5ab.jpg

Barclay's Premier League
vs. Burnley (Won 2-1)

Leicester managed to make it back to back wins in the Premier League with a tough victory at Turf Moor. David Jones was given the chance to put Burnley ahead on 35 minutes after Sam Vokes was brought down in the area by Ritchie De Laet, however Kasper Schmeichel pulled off a great save to keep the game level at half time.

20 Minutes after the restart it was the Foxes who took the lead as Andrej Kramaric scored once again with a well placed finish. Burnley rallied though and were level 10 minutes later through a David Jones free kick, he duly made up for his penalty miss. However with just 4 minutes remaining Leicester grabbed a winner as Mahrez played in Kramaric who scooped the ball over Tom Heaton to send the away fans into raptures.

Barclay's Premier League
vs. West Ham United (Won 2-0
)
Foxes fans were continuing to live the Premier League dream as their side bagged another impressive 3 points on home soil. Leicester showed a tough defensive display mixed with some good attacking initiative to over the Hammers. Goals either side of half time from Andrej Kramaric and then David Nugent settled the match on the day.

Barclay's Premier League
vs. Stoke City (Lost 2-0)

Leicester City saw all there momentum come to a screeching halt at Stoke as they went down 2-0 to the Potters. Geoff Cameron put Stoke ahead as Leicester conceded another penalty, the goal came just before half time which proved a tough pill to swallow.

10 minutes after the restart Riyad Mahrez made an awful two footed lunge towards Philipp Wollscheid and was subsequently given a straight red by referee Lee Mason. Stoke were comfortable from that point on and ended the contest with 5 minutes to go, Cameron again the scorer as he headed home from a late corner.

http://i60.tinypic.com/2ebzgc4.jpg

Andrej Kramaric took his tally to 8 league goals this month

http://oi60.tinypic.com/20sgeg1.jpg

This proved to be quite a successful month for the Club, we picked up 2 big wins from the 3 matches we played and of course those points could be huge come the end of the season. I won't deny the performance at Stoke was below par, we knew eventually someone was going to knock us off our perch, ultimately that game changed on 2 decisions that we must learn and move on from.

Positives still come from some of our attacking play, the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Andrej Kramaric have been key for us in the victories we had so far. Kramaric has bagged himself 8 Premier League goals already, a huge return so early on in the season.

We head into October now with Mahrez missing for 3 matches after his red card, so it will be a chance for somebody to step up in his place.
