We are pleased to announce manager, Ian Allinson has extended his stay at Meadow Ground after he signed a new 2 year deal. Ian has been a servant to the club, having been here since 2008 and he impressed us and most of all, the fans, after a strong 13th place finish last season. Ian has said, "I'm very happy to cement another 2 years at the club. I have given my heart and soul to the club and we are slowly becoming stronger every year and this year I think we have it in us to grab promotion. The players shown passion last year and with the additions I'm planning on adding, I'm confident we can achieve what I want. I'd like to thank the fans and the club for the support they have shown over the years and let's hope it continues.

The fixtures have been announced and we look forward to the start of the season at home to Farnborough on the 9th August 3:00 K.O. followed by a trip to The Vauxhall Ground and Hemel Hempstead, K.O. being 19:45 on 12th August. We wish Ian good luck for the season ahead and we hope to see you over the coming season!
Nice start, good luck!!
Good luck mate :)

-Shaughnessy (left) joins on loan.-

The club are pleased to have agreed a deal with Reading to loan 19 year old, Conor Shaughnessy on loan till the end of the season. We don't need to pay anything towards the deal as it is part of are relationship, with Reading being one of four senior clubs we have. Shaughnessy has shown much potential at Reading, playing a key role in the U21's and joins with much expectation. Shaughnessy said on joining Boreham Wood, "I'm very excited to be part of this club and I understand where the club want to be, the Vanarama Conference. I want to be able to impact on the team and to help them reach the next level. I'm very confident ahead of my spell here and I'm looking forward to a new challenge.

We look close to also completing the signing of 'keeper', Grant Smith on a free transfer, the deal looks like it will be complete within the next 2-3 days.
Good luck
Wellsey1498 - Thanks mate! :)

Pre-season results

Pre-season has now finished as we look forward to the new season. Here were the pre-season results and a short summary of each game!

We organised a match between the senior team and U21's in order to give the youth a chance to show what they had and possibly merit a place in the starting eleven for the opening game of the season. However, no one stepped upto the plate and the senior squad cruised to victory, showing their superiority throughout the game.

We then played Championship side Brentford and we gave a showing, however they were just too good on the day and beat us, 4-1. With many of their top players starting, it was always going to be a challenge, however the club are happy on a whole of how we played, despite the result.

Following on from the Brentford game was a game to Notts County and we again lost rather heavily, but impressed. We passed the ball around comfortably and shown much threat up front, but Notts County shown their class and were just too good again, however there was much to take from this game.

This game was much different to the previous couple, we expected a win but Potters Bar were not letting us break them down. On the day we were playing well, however the opposition were better... well.. at defending. They shown no threat going forward after their goals and sat back for the rest of the game, we broke them down twice late on, but they were just too good.

Last up was a tough tie again, this time to Luton Town and we finally got a result we deserved, a 1-1 draw. The performance was strong and we equally them out for pretty much all the match and in the end, neither team could get the important goal to win it.

The Verdict

We feel like we had a good pre-season although the results may not say so and that we can look forward to the upcoming campaign with our heads held high. We hope to see you down at Meadow Ground on Saturday!
Looks promissing. Good Luck my friend! :D

Boreham on form in 2-0 win

Boreham started their league campaign against relegation favourites, Farnborough and unsurprisingly outshone their helpless opponents. However, it took until the 79th minute for the home side to take the lead, after Farnborough keeper, Steve Jenkins made some brilliant saves to keep the game level, the goalscorer being loanee Conor Shaughnessy, who fired in from close range following a brilliant ball from Junior Morias. Morias then turned goalscorer as he made a strong run from deep and slotted home in the 90th minute to secure the win.

-Boreham Wood celebrate their win-

We caught up with Boreham manager Ian Allinson who said, "We were outstanding out there and if it weren't for their keeper, we easily could of won by 4 or 5 out there. I'm proud of the boys who were flawless and shown why they deserve to be playing for the club."

Boreham starting eleven - Smith, Garrard, Hill, Reynolds, Brown, Whichelow, Shaughnessy, McMahon, Lipman, Angol (subbed off 63 - Toomey on), Morias

Unused subs - Russell, Martin, Montgomery, Cox.

Farnborough starting eleven - Jenkins, Midworth, Foot, Brice, Grant, Treacher, Hand (subbed off 85 - Flanagan on), Pykes, Webb (subbed off 45 - Losasso), Grant, Page (subbed off 85 - Culley on)

Unused subs - James, Theophanous.
I'm liking the match reports here, hopefully you'll have some more success in the following matches!
