Introduction

Hi my name is Tobias and this my first time doing something like this so I hope it goes well. After watching my football team , Burnley, at Turf Moor at the weekend and seeing them losing 1-0 against Leicester, I felt like I wanted to
create an FM Save to see if I can do better than the man himself ... Sean Dyche. I am really looking forward to this save as I want to lead Burnley to Premier League glory and to also shut up Blackburn fans saying that have won the
Premier League (Only because of Alan Shearer).

The Manager

The person who will be managing Burnley will just be simply myself, Tobias. I just want to see myself in the Burnley History books.

Targets for the First Season

Premier League: For my first season in charge of the not so all mighty Burnley, will be to hopefull stay in the top flight and not to get relagated back into the Championship (like in real life).

Capital One Cup: This cup isnt to important for me at the start of my journey so my aim will be to go as far as i can

FA Cup: I really want to set some bars high in my first season in charge and no better way to do that by producing some shocks in the FA Cup. I want to aim , hopefully, at the Quater-Finals or maybe just slip in the Semi's if possible.

Tactics

The formation I will be rolling with this season is a Narrow 5-3-2 formation and the line up is as followed:
GK Tom Heaton
LB Joel Ward
LCB Ben Mee
CB Jason Shackell (Captain)
RCB Michael Keane
RB Kieran Trippier
LCM David Jones
CM Dean Marney
RCM Scott Arfield
ST Ashley Barnes
ST Danny Ings

Transfers

I will not be looking to buy anyone in my first season at Burnley because I only have a budget of 1m but I might look to sneek a few loan deals and maybe a free agent in there aswell.

The Start of a Long Journey
I hope that this save is a long term one instead of a short term save and I hope other people can live these moments with me.

Two Players join Burnley on loan

I did say I was looking for some loans as backups and I found some perfect fits ... well one anyway.

First is Mehdi Abeid from Newcastle. Whenever I start a FM Save I also see Abeid move their on a permanent deal but I just simply just didn't have the funds to do that, but I did see the opportunity to grab him and looks decent already and looks to have a bright future. Maybe a future signing?

Next up is Paul McShane from Hull City. Dont know why I got him but he was the only decent CB up for loan and I thought he was only going to be a backup anyway. So loan him I did.

Change of Tactics
I had a bit of a rethink about my tactics after my first post and began to think I was playing to negatively, so I got some advice to play a 4-2-3-1 formation (Thanks Icarus).

Pre-Season Friendlies - Training Camp

First Game - Burnley 2 - 1 Oberhausen

Our first of four games in this Training Camp went according to plan. Straight from kick-off, we we able to keep the ball and push foward in a quick attack and within 40 seconds, the Austrian man, Ashley Barnes was able to put the ball into the back of the net. Dean Marney with the assist

It wasn't to long until the next goal came , in the 28th minute when we went on a counter attack after Tom Heaton made an amazing double save. With the pace of Danny Ings we were able to get straight into the oppositions third. It was a simple pass from Danny Ings to Marney who saw a little gap to find George Boyd who finished off the amazing piece of play. Assissted again by Dean Marney.

Nothing much happened in the first half after that and 16 minutes after the restart, Oberhausen's Raphael Steinmetz put a goal past the sleepy Burnley defence.
Congrats on starting your very first story! Welcome aboard, may your save be crash-less and prosperous :)
Welcome to FMScout! Glad to have a Burnley fan on here, could be interesting. Good start to the story, think this may go well for you :)
