Crystal Palace boss, Alan Pardew has said in a press conference today, "We can improve." Pardew, who joined Palace in January last season after leaving Newcastle and managed to lead the club to a 10th place finish made the comments ahead of a pre-season friendly against Dungannon and went onto say, "It was a fantastic season for the club but we always have to look to become better. We have to strive on doing the best we can every single year and personally, we can do it."
Pardew has an incredible record so far at Palace after winning 12 of his 21 games in charge of the Eagles and fans are excited at what the future holds for the club too, one fan said, "I'm confident. Alan has done a fantastic job, taking us to 10th was a brilliant achievement and I think he can do better. I think, with the right signings, we can challenge for the Europa League, why not? We have a lot of young talent on show at the moment, Zaha and Bolasie for example, I can see us going far."
Pardew also announced that he has tied keeper, Julián Speroni to a new 2-year-deal. Speroni, who has been at the club since 2004, was a vital part to the success of last term and has said he is "delighted" to be able to stay at the club. Pardew then commented on the matter saying, "I'm very happy to be able to keep a player like Julián at the club, he is a fantastic goalkeeper and probably one of the best in the Premier League, he is doing brilliant and I'm glad he is willing to stay here, it's brilliant news."
