I was just wondering how many of you have actually managed to persuade a player from another club to join yours via the 'pre-contract chat' that you sometimes get before entering the negotiation stage. I've never been able to do it personally and I'm just curious as to whether or not it actually is possible.
Never happened to me either. If the player is not willing to join your club, it is unreal to change that.
I've been successful on quite a few occasions, but I tend to find it is easier when it's a fairly fresh regen who just doesn't initially fancy leaving their first club. In such cases, I usually use the spiel about how great a career they will have at my club.
This does work at times, but not always. Your reputation as a manager along with your Loyalty To Players has a big standing in convincing players.
