If you need help with tactics and training at FM 10 post it in this thread and hopefully someone will help you out.

But be sure you include some of the following:

- The team your managing
- The players
- Explain what your having troubles with and what you need help with(Be exact)
- DON'T JUST SAY I WANT HELP WITH TACTICS! Give proper information on everything.
- Be elaborate about your training set ups etc.
- DONT MAKE NEW THREADS FOR TACTICAL HELP! Every stupid thread created will be deleted. Help will be provided in this thread! :)
Corners!!!

The old "Set the centre backs to challange the keeper" tactic is utterly useless in FM's new incarnation.

Does anyone have any good tactics for corners? As Liverpool im past half way through the season and the single goal I have won from a corner has been a scramble in the box, no headers or anything.
people still want a "corner" cheat :P

well i think one thing they have improved on is that you can't have 1 good way of scoring in every game.

make sure the ones who are good at heading are the ones who go forward. have 1 who attacks the ball from deep. 1 flick and 1 challenge keeper.

also somone should stand on the far post, or attack far post.

but you score goals from corners if you have a good corner taker and good heading players.

ive managed to score quite a few from corners.
i suck at corners too,for the past two years i get 5 goals per season from corners.I'm arsenal, arshavin takes the corners, and sakho and zapata are best headers

I totally agree; i mean i abused the corner cheat as much as anyone, but removing it does make the game better as a whole. Just getting frustrating that im getting nothing from corners at all and im slowly feeling its a waste of a deadball, but i know thats more than likely just my tactics.

I've changed to a very mixed positioning: a player challanges keeper, attacks from deep, flicks on etc, but im experimenting with short option and playing it in as i dont have a large number of tall players but more technical ones.

Now I play a 1442 tactic

My current 442 tactics:

Goalkeeper (D)
Right Full Back (Auto)
Central Defender (D)
Central Defender (D)
Left Full Back (Auto)
Right Wide Midfielder (Auto)
Deep Lying Playmaker (S)
Ball Winning Midfielder (S)
Left Wide Midfielder (Auto)
Poacher (A)
Deep Lying Forward (S)

Not sure how much detail you want, so I'll start with just the basics.
fot fm 2009 i read a guide for team tactics. He explain how works closing down, passing, tackling..etc.
There is a 2010 version of the TT&F, which is what I think you're talking about.

Are you defenders set to zonal or player marking?

What player settings are your midfielders on - central midfielder, ballwinning mid, etc. / attack, support, defend, auto?
Hi people have a great new year, first of all "challenger keeper" "mark keeper" works just fine for me!
The thing is with the new FM AI that you can't rely on 2 players (especially your CB)
to do the work! Check your team and choose all your players with high heading and jumping to attack near post or challenge the keeper!
Second, tactics in this FM is a whole bunch of things really, not just simple-minded tactics will work, you have to rotate you have to think up solutions through the game, that is why this is so hard to win all games, even if you edit or cheat!!
So, I think this game is one of the most strategical game in the market, cause you need about 1-2 hrs to set your team in every espect no matter what great team or mid team of low team you manage!
So, I guess there is no "medicine" or "the perfect tactics"!
But in case of training, try PS=light before the season starts, and try to get to know of all the coaching sections that must be the ones to fit with the players positions!
For example:
goalkeepers

STRENGTH -------
AEROBIC ------- ------
GOALKEEPING ------- ------ ------
TACTICS ------- ------ ------
BALL CONTROL ---
DEFENDING -------
ATTACKING ---
SHOOTING -------
SET PIECES ------- --

You need intensive about keepers in gk and tct, cause he must increase his gk attributes and some of his mental as well
This is one of my training programs I use for GK!
Remember that FIT program is always heavier than the other ones so reduce it a little
cause your whole schedule must always be medium!

so im not the only one who takes 1 hour to play 1 match =P
I need some help with the strikers. I play a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 assymetric, but I prefer the first one.

The problem is that the Fast Strikers are score many goals, while the Target Strikers are struggling to score. I managed Liverpool with the 4-2-3-1 and Torres scored twice almost in every match, but Dzeko did not even score, while in Wolfsburg was a goal machine with 25 goals in 24 matches... I have played him with every tag (i.e. poacher, target striker etc), but the results were disappointing.

So I buy only fast strikers, such as, weilliton, kadlec, jovetic etc.

I do not use a target man, play makers and things like that, is this my fault?

I am afraid to use them, because if the player does not perform well, then the whole team may falter. Am I wrong?

Lads I do not have the patience to stay 1 hour and give orders to each player... although that's the scope and the point of the game, but I cannot do that.

Regarding the above interesting things, indeed rotation is required, I have 2 "teams", the good and the promising and I can sell almost the whole team in order to buy the players I want to make the "good" team. In Liverpool, I kept only 5 or 6 players and I sold the rest...

Regarding the tactics , I never change them, if I see that it fits my team, then that's it, i.e. in Leverkusen that I play now, the 4-2-4 is magnificent, while the 4-2-3-1 assymetric is not so good, as it was with Liverpool in EPL.

Any help with the strikers will be grateful, thanks in advance.
Well I have to note down that FM2010 = PATIENCE! :)
