Manchester City offer lifelong fan the opportunity of a lifetime!

First off my main aim is to make Manchester City the dominant force in world football, its going to be hard work and effort but lets see how it goes.

I shall be trimming the average age of the squad through developing youth players and delving into the transfer market.I wont be making any transfers this season but have a few youngsters in mind, the squad is more than capable off decent success this season all being well.

Feel free to comment on any update improvements i should make or if your enjoying the story that would be great, or if any fellow blues have anything they would like to share in regards to my story or anything then thats good, always looking for new ideas.

Summary

Pre Season 2015

Formation

  • Most managers favourite, the 4-2-3-1
  • Inside forwards & trequertista to lead the line
  • Advanced playmaker supporting the forwards
  • Two deep lying playmakers, defend & support
  • Automatic fullbacks providing attacking prowess & also their defending duties
  • Two ball playing centre backs, perfect for the way i want this team to play
  • Going to mainly play on an attacking menatality whilst being flexible

  • A friend of mine suggested this formation and going to try it out & see how it goes
  • Not sure of the false nine position, best bets at the moment would be Sterling, Silva or KDB, will have to train them in the position in the long run though
  • Ideal tactic to control games with the extra man in midfield being the ball winning midfielder to give some cover to the centre backs
  • Again, two deep lying playmakers
  • False nine to drop off and give another option to pick the ball up from deep
  • Trequertista & the complete forward giving me extra strength & goal threat up top
  • Hopefully works well & will be trying this out in pre season, see how it goes

The Squad

  • Very strong looking squad
  • Will be looking to see what young Patrick Roberts & Bruno Zuculini are made of in pre season
  • Brandon Barker, Kelechi Iheanacho & Manu Garcia to be drafted in for pre season & Cup games
  • Main aim to develop youth & bring the average age of the squad down
  • Have a few transfer targets in mind but wont be signing anyone until next season, give the youngsters a chance to prove themselves before i make any drastic changes

Results

  • Mixed bag of results really, first game was a distaster, even though i fielded some youngsters we really didn't perform. Probably because fitness & match sharpness wasnt any were near
  • 7 goals in 5 games isnt that bad for pre season but let in a few which is a worry & will be adressed, even if it means a tactic tweak or two. hate conceding that amount of goals even if i did score. Like to keep it tight at the back.
  • Porto provided a stern test, but in reality we dominated the game with controlled possession & a clinical finish.

Injury Update

  • Fernandinho the latest to be stuck with the injury bug. 3-4 weeks with Tendonitits in his achilles. Shame really because he was playing well up until that point.
  • Fabian Delph still out for the next month or so with a hamstring problem, will try and get him back, could do with his energy & dynanism in midfield
  • Apart from that, pretty much a fully fit squad for the start of the season which is good

Transfers

  • Then they came back with another offer...... They must really want to sign him

  • Quite alot of money for what most people would think is an average player but i really think he could be an asset to me in my midfield and will need players of his type in the squad, so i kindly declined to do business. I hope this turns out to be a good decision

  • I did say i wouldnt be making any transfers in my earlier post, but this opportunity just couldnt pass me by, at 18 years old he has the potential to be a world class player with the right management
  • At 10 million pounds i think that is a bargain, his first game brought a goal and an assist in what was a MOTM performance, he didnt even start
  • The language could be an issue but hopefully he learns english fairly quickly
  • Another option up top & he can also play on either wing if i wanted to change things up
  • All in all i think he is a very good young player with bags of potential

Summary Of The Month

  • Mixed bag of results but the match sharpness & fitness is what matters to me in pre season really
  • Tactics are growing on the players & look more comfortable with the current tactics being played
  • Couple of injurys but mostly a fully fit squad
  • Stand out performer is Yaya Toure
  • Stand out young player is (surprisingly) Bruno Zuculini
  • All in all i think we are ready for the new season, with the first game away at Newcastle, not the easiest of starts but easier than it could have been

August Update To Follow Soon....
Definitely sell Fernando with that offer, I play without transfers in the first window but found him of little use during my season.

Wasnt sure, i know its good money for an average type player but had been playing well in pre season, albeit against average opposition. Thought maybe he could do a job this season. No doubt they will come back in with another offer
I like this career and your the manner of presentation. Good luck and try sign more english players like Grealish or Lewis Cook or Ward-Prowse.

Thanks very much, yeah thats the idea, looking to trim the average age & develop young talent.
I have a few players in mind in the areas that i feel need improving.
Thanks for the comment & hope you enjoy my story. Will be posting my august update soon

August 2015

Results

  • Great start to the season for the boys
  • Wins against Liverpool & Arsenal gets us off to a flyer with Newcastle & West Brom fallinng foul to a City side determined to get ther season of to a flyer
  • Kevin De Bruyne was the hero as he came off the bench to turn the game against Liverpool in our favour, Sergio grabbing our second
  • The Baggies & newcastle provide good games but still second best to us, who at times played some scintitllating football goals from Gabriel Barbosa & Yaya Toure at St James's Park, Mangala & Nasri scoring for City at The Hawthorns while Salamon Rondon replied for West Brom, who played well themselves
  • What a game against Arsenal even though we made it hard for ourselves (wouldn't be City if we didnt) 3-2 it ended with goals from Sergio (who missed a penalty at 2-2), KDB & Kompany with a bullet headrer from a Silva corner that win the game for City. A Cazorla penalty & wonder strike from Mesut Ozil provided consolation for Arsene Wengers team

August League Table

  • Great start for us, as we set the pace in the league with 4 wins from 4, brilliant from the boys
  • Spurs, Arsenal & United make up the top 4

Champions League Draw Has Taken Place

  • City handed a tough PSG side in the group stage which will no doubt test my squad off their abilities in a two game clash against the French champions
  • Dynamo Liev make up the 3rd seed team with long haul travelling for us to come going to Ukraine, which wont be easy but thats what the Champions League is all about
  • Macabi Tel Aviv occupy the 4th spot in the group as surprise entrants into the competition

Capital One Cup 3rd Round Draw

  • Selhurst Park the venue as we go to face Crystal Palace in the 3rd round
  • The Board deem this competition as not important, but i want to win it, they all count towards the trophy cabinet
  • Will definatly be throwing a few youngsters in, then i will find out if they can cope with top level football & they need game time to improve. Palace never an easy place to play football

Injury Update

Willy Caballero out for 2 weeks with a small fracture in his arm
Fabian Delph still plaged by hamstring trouble, yet to start his City career
Fernandinho resumes full training following tendonitits in his achilles, great news for us

center]Player Stats

  • Chris Bardsley manager of the month
  • Gabriel Barbosa young player of the month

Monthly Summary
  • Very happy with our start, especially with wins against Arsenal & Liverpool in games that we played really well & satisfied with our defending, which is a big thing for me. Not a manager that isnt bothered as long as we score, would rather win 1-0 than concede goal, (weird i know but thats what i am)
  • Games against The Baggies & Newcastle showed that we havent been complacent as of yet, even though its only the start of the season
  • Only a couple of players out injured so have a fully fit squad pretty much
  • Gabriel Barbosa having a great start to his City career, im convinced that with the right training & management he will become a star, no doubt
  • Yaya Toure bossing midfield with an unlikely ally next to him in Fernando during Fernandinho's injury, Fernando playing well thus far
  • Defense looking solid under the stewerdship of stalwart Vinnie Kompany
  • All in all really looking forward to the season ahead after our good start, hopefully we can carry on our good form and consolidate our position in the league & other competitions

September Update Coming Soon.....

September 2015

Results
  • Again a good month barring hiccups to Watford & getting knocked out the cup by Palace in which we played poorly throughout
  • Off too a good start in the Champions League with wins over M.Tel-aviv & a belting win over Psg, i was delighted! Sergio Aguero grabbing a hattrick in that game & Gabriel Barbosa with the other
  • Played very well away at Leicster and nullified there attacking prowess with solid defending & very good finishing, really impressed with that win, the way we played and the goals we scored
Going back to that game aginst watford here are the stats..... Unbelieveable, how did we not win?!

September Table
Looking good still in the league, with 6 wins & 1 draw, im really happy with that & what i have got from my squad
Champions League after 2 games, sitting pretty in first, a great start!......

Player Stats

Summary Of The Month
  • All in all a good month for us, looking strong in the Champions League, which i didnt expect but a really good result against PSG puts us in a strong position
  • Doing well in the league building up some good results & performances to go with it, i'm really happy with my team, playing very well & look bang in form at the moment, long may that continue. I just know we will hit a rocky patch along the season & i'm ready for that
  • A shame about the cup but Palace played very well & deserved their victory, we just didnt play well. Happy with how my young players coped. they played well, but the senior players didnt turn up, dissappointing! Just hope we can make ammends in the FA Cup & put a run together.
  • We dont enter that Competition until round 3
    • Sergio Aguero leading the scoring charts & playing well in a Trequertista role
    • Fernando still performing above expectations & im delighted, one of the main cogs in my midfield at the moment next to Yaya
    • Very happy with my new signing, he is such a talent & can only get better, long may it continue

    Upcoming Fixtures

    October Update Coming Soon.....

October 2015

Results
  • Decent set of results this month
  • Gritty 1-0 win against current champions Chelsea, fairly scrappy game with very little chances. Navas scoring the games only goal
  • Derby day bragging rights for us with a 2-1 win over rivals Man United, with us 1-0 up united have a man sent off in Ashley young but the equaliser game, much to my annoyance through Memphis Depay, with the game at 1-1 we took advantage of our dominace and pulled infront through Sergio Aguero, Nicolas Otamendi later sent of after a nasty looking challenge
  • Up came the Champions League away at Dynamo Kiev & to be wuite honest was one of the poorest performances from my team, we just didnt turn up on that day & deservedly lost
  • Dominant wins against Sunderland & Everton came after that with the lads bouncing back superbly after that defeat. Played very well in these two games & consolidated our position in the league

October Table
  • Playing really well in the league and sit pretty in 1st, leading by an impressive 8 points
  • Liverpool, Leicester, Chelsea & West Ham make up the top four
  • Watford, Aston Villa & Norwich make up the relegation places, plenty of time for them to recover
  • Man United not in familiar territory down in 8th place, Louis Van Gaal under pressure
  • Sitting top in group E with 6 points from a possible 9
  • Defeat in Kiev didnt do too much damage
  • Key fixture will be PSG away, winner will probably determine who will finish top
  • Level on points with a strong PSG side, only top on goal difference, goals always an advantage

Player Stats
Manager Of The Month : Chris Bardsley

Player Injuries
  • Fabian Delph & Martin Demichellis return to full fitness & stepped up their match fitness
  • Bad news though as Raheem Sterling has broke his leg & will be on the sidelines for upto four-five months, hopefully he makes a full & speedy recovery
  • Bacary Sagna picked up a hernia problem & will be out for a few weeks
  • Alexander Kolarov picked up a gashed leg but has since returned & in the squad

Summary Of The Month
  • Good month for us with straight wins in the Premier League in which extends our lead at the top of the table, look very strong & the players responding well to how i want to play
  • Dissappointing loss in Ukraine but hasn't done too much damage, never the less still very frustrating performace from the lads
  • Sergio Aguero at his very best leading the clubs scoring charts
  • Gabriel Barbosa, the 10 million pound purchase from Santos still impressing with some very matured & exciting performances, has ousted Jesus Navas from that right wing role, in for a long run of games with Raheem's injury, is very much a first team regular
  • Defending well & scoring goals, i cant ask for more than that, playing some good football along the way
