Three Toulouse players have been named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year
• Predrag Rajkovic, Oscar Trejo and Wissam Ben Yedder earned selection from Toulouse
• Despite finishing sixth this season, Paris Saint-Germain had six players named in the side
• The remaining two players in the side were Bryan Dabo and Hatem Ben Arfa
The Ligue 1 Team of the Year has been announced, it features three Toulouse players in the line-up after an impressive season in which they won the Ligue 1 title for the first time in the history of the club.
Performing incredibly during the season, Wissam Ben Yedder scored 34 goals in 35 games to see him become the leading goal scorer in Ligue 1 this season. Ben Yedder has had interest in his services from a number of clubs around Europe in the past two seasons but recently signed a contract which will see him earn £61,000 per week until 2021.
Oscar Trejo was also a must selection for the Ligue 1 Team of the Year, Trejo continued his form from last season in which he was awarded the Player of the Season for Toulouse. Trejo was the main playmaker for Toulouse during the season, contributing with 11 goals and 16 assists in 48 games.
The selection of Toulouse goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic was the biggest surprise in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year. Rajkovic performed terrifically all season but many believed that Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu should have been selected. Despite finishing sixth, Sirigu and the Paris Saint-Germain defence managed to conceded the least amount of goals in Ligue 1 during the season.
Paris Saint-Germain still have the most players in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year with David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Layvin Kurzawa, Marco Verratti, Angel Di Maria and Raheem Sterling all making the side. Despite their poor performance this season, Paris Saint-Germain will still remain title favours heading into next season.
The two other players making the side were Bryan Dabo from Montpellier HSC and Hatem Ben Arfa from OGC Nice who both performed terrifically over the course of the season.
