RB Leipzig - The Road To The Top

Ok, so I’m starting a new save with RB Leipzig. It`s a very young club, and it has potential to be a huge club in European football. So the plan is to have monthly updates of the save. I will mostly sign young players and try to build a team that can compete for major titles. I will try to run the club as healthy as possible. With that, I mean that the economy will grow each season, make a profit each season and increase the club`s reputation.

My Goals:

Win the 2. Bundesliga the first season
Win the Bundesliga within five seasons
Win the DFB-Pokal within five seasons
Qualify for the UEFA Europa League within three seasons
Qualify for the UEFA Champions League within four seasons
Win the Europa League within four seasons
Win the Champions League within seven seasons
Win the FIFA Club World Cup within ten seasons

The History of the Club

The club was founded in 2009, it`s a extremely young club. Since they were founded they have been promoted 4 times.

BREAKING NEWS

RB Leipzig has appointed a new manager

The RB Leipzig board have announced the appointment of Stefan Meyer as the club`s new manager. Meyer is said to be thrilled as the club´s new manager.

Stefan Meyer has neither played football on a professional level or been a coach on a professional level. Meyer was born in Berlin in 1982, he is 33 years old. Although he has never been a coach before, does he have a Continental C coaching license.
He is football crazy, he has been Borussia Dortmund fan since he was a small child. He was a season ticket holder at Signal Iduna Park for 10 years.

Stefan Meyer Meets The Press

Red Bull Leipzig held a press conference today with the new manager.

Sky Sports: How do you feel after getting job?

Meyer: I am very happy. I did not think I'd get it, but I have and I cannot wait to get started.

Bild: You 've never been the manager before, do you think that your lack of experience makes it difficult to succeed at this level?

Meyer: I do not have the experience that many other managers have in this league, but I think I have what it takes to succeed.

Eurosport: What are your goals for the season?

Meyer: It is to win the league.

Talksport: How far can you reach with this club?

Meyer: I do not know, it 's hard to say. The dream is to win the Champions League. This is a long-term project for me.

Kicker: Have you thought about how you want to play?

Meyer: No. We’re going to work on it in the weeks ahead.

Goal.com: Do you intend to strengthen the team?

Meyer: I do not know yet. I have to get to know my players before I can bring someone in.

The Squad

Goalkeepers

Fabio Coltorti – 34 years old – Switzerland
Peter Gulasci – 25 years old – Hungary

Coltorti will I try to sell this summer, and replace him with a young goalkeeper. Gulasci is a good goalkeeper in the 2. Bundesliga, he will be the first goalie this season I think. It depends who I bring in.

Defenders

Georg Teigl – RB – 24 years old – Austria
Lukas Klosterman – RB – 19 years old – Germany
Anthony Jung – LB – 23 years old – Germany
Marcel Halstenberg – LB – 23 years old – Germany
Tim Sebastian – CB – 31 years old – Germany
Marvin Compper – CB – 30 years old – Germany
Antic Nukan – CB – 21 years old – Turkey
Willi Orban – CB – 23 years old – Germany

Lukas Klosterman will be my first RB, he`s young and have the potential to be Bundesliga RB. The two LB`s are very even, I will try to give both of them plenty of playing time.
The CB`s are also very even, Orban is the best one. Sebastian and Compper will be placed on the transferlist. I want to bring in some young guys.

Midfielders

Stefan Ilsanker – DM – 26 years old – Austria
Rani Khedria – DM – 21 years old – Germany
Diego Demme – DM – 23 years old – Germany
Zsolt Kalmar – CM – 20 years old – Hungary
Marcel Sabitzer – AMR – 21 years old – Austria
Emil Forsberg – AML – 23 years old – Sweden
Stefan Hierlander – AMC – 24 years old – Austria
Massiomo Bruno – AMC – 21 years old – Belgium
Dominik Kaiser – AMC – 26 years old – Germany

The midfield is actually pretty good. We have young and potential players on this area also.

Attackers

Yussuf Poulsen – ST – 21 years old – Denmark
Nils Quaschner – ST – 21 years old – Germany
Terrence Boyd – ST – 24 years old – USA
Davie Selke – ST – 20 years old – Germany

I think we have the best strikers in the league. They are young, they are good, and all of them have pretty good potential.

We have a very good and young team, they are good enough to win the league. I will not sell so many player this season. I like a lot of the players that we have here and I want to achieve great things with them.

Expectations

The board has set the expectations for the season, they are:
Reach Promotion Playoff in the 2. Bundesliga
Reach third round in the DFB-Pokal

With the team that we got, I am 100% sure that we can reach those goals. The media has predicted that we will win the league, I think that’s possible.

Season so far is just ok. We need to start winning more matches if we want to win the league. We are scoring lots of goals. But the defence has not been good enough, 39 goal conceded so far. I will sell those players who have not played any games. We don´t have any money to spend right now, so I will try to loan some defenders or ask the board for more money.
