Rogers Sacked!

Brendan Rodgers has been sacked by the Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG). It appears that the board sacked him due to the demands we was asking them for for the new season.

Rodgers has just ended his second season with Liverpool, finishing in 7th in his first year in charge and second in his second year as boss. He was hoping for another good season with Liverpool until he got sacked.

Many fans are disappointed with the news as they felt he had a good season and that they could have worked with that to push them on to greater things.

John W. Henry released a statement today stating that they thank Brendan for his service to Liverpool Football Club and to wish him all the best in the future.

Fans are eager to see who will take over the helm at the club with the bookies favourite Jurgen Klopp to take over next. Other names on the list are Carlo Ancelotti, Andre Villas Boas and Frank de Boer.
Best of luck with this!

Cheers bud. Going to be a long save hopefully

Klopp, Ancelotti, Boas and Boreland??

FSG have declared today they they have came up with the shortlist of potential mangers to replace Brendan Rodgers and there is a big shock. We can understand the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Carlo Ancelotti and AVB being in the run in for the job as they are great managers but the biggest shock on tbhee list is...

Bradley Boreland of Northern Ireland. A 23 year old who's greatest achievements are on a simulation game Football Manager. Born in Belfast on the 20th November 1992, this will be the youngest ever manager to manage a team in the Premier League never-mind Liverpool.

It is a big shock to Liverpool fans as they were hoping to have mangers, on the list, with a bit more experience on their side.

Klopp or Ancelotti would be ideal as they are both without a club and have bags of experience, But only time will tell to see who the manager might be.

Fans Fury

Fans of Liverpool have shown their fury at the Liverpool owners at naming Bradley Boreland on the shortlist on who becomes the next manager of their club. In a poll on whether fans would like to see Boreland in charge, only 3% of fans would be happy for Boreland to take charge as he could bring a different approach to the game.

97% of the fans that do not want Boreland in charge have stated that it is a joke for his name even to be on the list in the first place. Fans have taken to twitter to show their hatred of the idea.

one fan wrote: Fuming at the decision to even have Bradley's name up there @LFC #Fuming

While others have started protesting outside Anfield Stadium. More than 5000 fans have gathered with placks saying 'FSG out'

The owners have yet to make a statement as of yet but fans are hoping they will have one soon as they need answers as to why Borelands name is on the list.

Owners Statement

Fenway Sports Group have today released a statement on the managerial shortlist that they created not long ago.

John W. Henry had this to say: 'We are here today to put things straight with the fans as to whom is taking over the vacant managerial post. We have contacted possible managers and have set up talks with them and their agents. If we feel that a certain person will move this club forward then they will be instated.

We have looked at all angles and have not left any stone unturned. We are sorry for the fans who feel we are not trying to put the club first, in which we are, but we ask for patience and have trust in our methods.'

It seems that some fans are coming round to FSG's wsay of thinking and have apologised to the owners for their actions and for not trusting them.

Boreland Instated

After 2 weeks without a manager Liverpool have revealed today they have entrusted Bradley Boreland as their new manager on a 1 year contract. They have stated that they have only gave Boreland a one year contract as they are looking to get a manager with more experience next year as no one was available this year with Klopp and Ancelotti not interested in the job at this very moment inn time.

They have asked fans to be patient with Boreland and for them to trust them in the near future.

Fans have been posting all over Twitter today about the installment with most of them agreeing that no one was available but hope they would make amends next year when Borelands contract is up.

Managers Comments

Bradley has his first interview with the press today and this is how it went:

Reporter: You sit here today as the new manager of Liverpool FC. How does that make you feel?

Boreland: I am very honored to be sat here today as the new Liverpool manager. It is a dream come true to be here and I hope to do myself and everyone proud

Reporter: Is it true that it is only a one year contract? Or was that only said to keep the fans happy?

Boreland: This is indeed true. I did only sign a one year contract with the club but I will still do my very best in the time given to me.

Reporter: Hi, Jake from the Sun. What woul...

Boreland: I have no interest in answering anyone's answers from the Sun newspaper. So if anyone else is from the Sun I would like to ask you's to leave.

Reporter: Why did you send them reporters away?

Boreland: They were from the Sun. I am a Liverpool fan myself and I know the lies they put in their paper when the Hillsborough Disaster happened so I am no answering any questions from them

Reporter: That's fair enough. Can you enlighten us in what sort of football you will be delivering to the fans.

Boreland: I would like to sit down with the players and talk with them on the tactics they feel they would be comforatble with. I would like a possession based game with fast passing, quick movements and hard tackling so we can get the ball back quick. This will be the last question

Reporter: Do you have any ideas on who you will bring in? Staff and players wise?

Boreland: Staff wise were are fine on that as I feel we have a good set-up here and do not want to change anything drastically that might upset the players. Players wise I would like a few new faces in the team to freshen it up but we have a bunch of quality players available so again I do not want to mess with it too much. Thanks for listening but I need to get to see my players and have a team meeting. Thank you

What do the Fans Think?

We are here with some Liverpool fans to ask them how they feel about Boreland being appointed as Manager. Boreland was instated 2 weeks ago, after Rodgers being sacked, and has been seen as a stupid appointment by many fans and pundits.

We asked the fans how they felt with the appointment baring in mind that it is only a one year contract. Some of the responses were that, it was a joke to employ him as he has no experience in managing a team, to some fans saying, give him a chance, that he might do well for us this season and who knows might end up with another contract.

The fans seem to be in 50/50 on whether or not to stick with him at the end of the season if he does well. Some fans even joked that he could win the Premier League in his first season, even tho they all laughed at that quote.

The owners have made it clear that they believe and trust in Bradley to deliver Champions League football next season as they feel a title push is not on the cards just yet. John W. Henry has asked fans t be patient with Boreland and trust them in their appointment of Bradley.
Now speaking as Bradley Boreland

The Tactic

Today I have devided a tactic that would work well for Liverpool Football Club. It is a simple yet constructive tactic that will employ total control of the ball and fast pace passing and movement. The wingers will be used to cut inside to support the forward acting as strikers themselves.

The defence will be tight with the full backs used as makeshift wingers but willing to come back to defend when required.

The central midfielders will be the heart beat of the team. Putting players through with their passing as well as containing the opposition players. the box-to-box midfielder will do as the title explains and run up and down the pitch.

The team will play fluidly around the pitch so players can move about making as much space as possible with a high standard of tempo to the game. The will mean the players will have to have a good first touch of the ball so they do not give the ball away to often. The play will be fairly wide so that the wingers can get a lot of the ball.

There will be a normal defensive lline. This will be so that the defenders can concentrate on their defending and to stop the opposition getting in behind them with over the top through balls. Their will be a lot of closing down to try and force a mistake by the other players so wen can get the ball back whether it be up the pitch or in the heart of defence. We will want our players to prevent the ball being played to the defence of the opposite team so the goal keeper will have to kick the ball up field. We will ask our defenders to get stuck in to try and get the ball back as quick as possible even if it means giving away free kicks.

We will be playing out of defennce so we need defenders with good passing so they can give the ball to the midfielders to try and make something happen as well as everyone passing into space. This will require players having good movement and positioning skills to get to the ball. Passing into space will make it easier for the midfielders to distribute the ball with a lot of time to do it. Short passing will be best used in our team if we are using a high tempo and retaining possession is a must as we arre trying to control the ball as much as possible. The players must be expressive in the way they play so more opportunities arise for us to capitalise on.

Working the ball into the box will be great so the strikers can get to the ball and potentially score. Long shots are only ever used if there is nothing else to do. We will ask the players to run at the defence, so we will need players with good dribbling so they can take on the defence.
Loving the detail you've gone into with that update! Looks like that could work very well :P

The First Signing

Liverpool, today, have announced the signing of Argentinian defensive midfielder Lucas Romero from Argentine club Velez in a deal worth £4.1 Million. The deal appeared to have fallen through as Romero didn't want to be loaned back to the club, but after another negotiation took place it appears Romero will stay at Liverpool.

Romero started his career with Velez had made 86 appearances for the club, scoring 6 times, before making the switch to Merseyside. Romero has stated that he is happy that the transfer has went through and has thanked Velez for the amazing 6 years he has been their, but he is delighted to be signing for a great team like Liverpool.

Boreland has said to have been glad of the capture of Romero for such a small fee. Boreland was an admirer of Romero in his time in Argentina and hopes he brings the form he showed in Velez to Liverpool.
