Real Oviedo Hire Former Player Michu as their manager!

Breaking news this morning from Oviedo, President of Real Oviedo Jorge Menéndez has confirmed the appointment of their former player Michu as Real Oviedo Manager. Michu started his career at Real Oviedo as a 16 year old in 2002, he stayed there for 5 seasons and then left on a free to go and join Celta Vigo, after a five year stint at Celta Vigo (In Liga Adelante at the time), he left on a free to Rayo Vallecano to test his skills in the top flight of spanish football. Michu would proceed to make 37 appearances that season scoring 15 goals. That performance caught the eye of Michael Laudrup who was Swansea's manager at the time, and signed him for £2.1 Million. Michu had an amazing debut season for Swansea scoring 18 goals in 35 appearances. His second season at Swansea was the opposite, after his horrible second season Swansea loaned Michu out to Napoli, Michu only making 3 appearances. Swansea terminated Michus contact telling him he had no chance playing. Jorge Menéndez also said Michu will be holding a press conference tomorrow.

Michu to meet the Media

Reporter: Michu, what made you switch to management?
Michu: I didn't feel I had anywhere near the same ability as a footballer after my injury, and had always wanted to get into management, just never thought it would be so soon i guess.

Reporter: How does it feel managing a club so close to your heart?
Michu: Yeah, it is great, I hope I can succeed and have a long and great career here.

Reporter: Are you planning on bringing in any new players or staff?
Michu: The squad is great but every squad can always use a bit more depth so we wil see.
Best of luck with this!!
Michu, what a legend! Hope his managerial career doesn't end up like his playing one :')

Pre-Season

Urraca 2-0
Great start to the season beating the Spanish Third Division Group 2 side Urraca. Toche and Carlos Pena with the goals.

Atlanta 0-1
Disappointing loss to Serie Side Atlanta but expected.

Avese 1-0
The score could have been better, but a win none the less. Loanee Pablo Hervias with the goal.

Lenense 6-2
Huge win against our affiliate club. Borja Valle with 3, Daved Generelo, Nacho Lopez and Diego Aguirre with 1 each.
This should be a very interesting story! Good preseason as well.

August 2016

Lugo 1-0
First game of the season a fairly even matched game according to the media. The first half was disappointing, nothing happening at all. 52 minutes into the second half and a penalty was awarded for us. Edu Bedia stepped up and the shot was saved. Luckily on the 82nd minute Borja Valle stepped up finishing a perfectly weighted pass. Esteban with the MOTM performance.

Alaves 0-3
Very disappointed with the result, the score did not reflect the stats at all. From there 3 shots on target they scored 3. There pitch was extremely long and I didn't change my tactics accordingly and got hit on the counter.

Injuries

Jon Erice: Undergoing treatment for a facial injury. Back to full fitness in 5 to 8 days
Nice story so far! Shame about the result vs Alaves, but it's always hard to win away from home!
Try just editing the screenshot and break it down to what you want so its readable in the thread
Griffo: Yeah mate realised as I was going to sleep
Very intriguing stuff as well as an interesting choice of manager/club, keep it up! :)
good updates, shame about that Aalves result though...good luck!
