scout 16g: your v. of football manager not supported

My problem is very specific. I am running windows 10 and have version 16.3 of FM16 installed. I was using the free version of scout for a long while and had no crashes or errors. Then, yesterday I bought the paid version and it ran fine all day. The only difference was that my game crashed twice when it had never crashed before. Then, today, I went to start up the game and my scout and I get this message: Your version of football manager is not supported: Football Manager 2016 16.3.1f789819.
Keep in mind that there have been NO updates to football manager since march and this is April. Also, I ran fm scout g just fine yesterday and the same save file. I even checked an older save. Then I checked a new game. I tried re-installing and running as an admin, but to no avail.

I confirmed that there are no updates. There are no patch notes on sigames or steam, no news of any kind anywhere.

FM is now 16.3.1 - you will notice SI have added an update to the game, hence Genie Scout doesn't work for ANYONE right now.

Rest assured, Eugene will be getting an update out to everyone, via your email address provided with the scout purchase, as soon as he has done it.

I went into my steam and looked at the history of updates. Where did you find that it was updated - just out of curiosity?
Ugh of course I would have this problem the day I buy the editor to use. Poor timing on my part.

When I tried to load FM and it said "Updating game". Also, at the main menu of the FM game itself, the top left corner states 16.3.1.

16.3.1 compatible version will be available tonight.
