Monthly Overview


Hello and Welcome to my story with HNK Rijeka. Today I got intrigued by my local team , since they have never won Croatian First League, its a challenge for me to do it and go all the way until I win the Champions League or maybe even the treble(League, Cup and Champions League).


First game we beat our rivals Dinamo 3-0 (Away), our new signing Muzafer Ejupi got 2 assist and had a rating of 9.0, but the Man of the Match was Ivan Mocinic, our keyplayer and best midfielder. Second game was in the Euro Cup against KR, where we won 2-1 (Away), scorer was Muzafer Ejupi, twice of which once a penalty. Third game against Lokomotiva (Home), we got early score in 21st min. Our striker Roman Bezjak gave us the lead, than we got a red card and the game passed without any close chances for either side. Forth game was again in the Euro Cup where we passed again clean sheet 2-0 and only scorer was Muzafer Ejupi (one penalty).

Fifth game was Split where we have made a great comeback from 0-1 to 2-1 (Home). Sixth game was first draw of the season in the Euro Cup 3rd Qual Rnd, It ended 1-1 (Home) against Zilina. We scored in the 66th minute, but they got away with penalty late in the game at 89 min.

Yeah they're preety young overall and have great potential my transfer policy is to sign mostly wonderkids so i hope it will be interesting for you to see how they develop

First game of the month we got absolutely wrecked against Osjek 3-2(Away), although the result doesn't seem that way we've had just 2 shots on target and we almost snatched a draw but they scored late goal in 86 min to take all 3 points from us.Second game the euro cup vs Zilina 2-2(Away), we passed trough to playoff on away goals but im not happy because our tactic stopped worked working i changed it to 4-4-1-1,we're rotating those two tactics,pllayer of the match was Ivan Mocinic.Third game against Istra 3-1(Home) finally one confident win for us,Roman Bezjak our striker has got hat trick and he was player of the match.Forth game against Zagreb we won 0-1(Away),our new signing Ivan Saponjic who is kind of a wonderkid not world class player but i signed him for 500 k and usually his price go up to 1.4 milion at least at the end of season.


Fifth game was a joke it was their pressure without idea before even halftime we were playing 9 vs 11 and we lost only 0-1(Home).Sixth game Adriatic derby Rijeka-Hajduk, stadium Rujevica is full, pressure on the team and managers question is who will handle it better.After the match which ended 3-1(Home), i have complete faith my squad to go away on CSKA Moscow and get a win to get to groups but i won't be dissapointed if we don't this is already a great achievment and they are the favourites.Seventh game the Euro cup against CSKA Moscow we lost because of man down 3-1(Away) and now we can focus on wining the league and cup.Eight game against Inter Zapresic was the biggest surprise of the month,i wasn't excepting 1-3(Home) defeat and they are for now title contenders

This was an easy month only four games but im happy with how we passed trough it.First match was against Slaven Belupo, convinsing win of 1-3(Away), Ivan Saponjic got back from injury and scored 2 goals, also Muzafer Ejupi scored 1 goal against his former team.Second game Zagreb-West derby against Dinamo,sell out expected on Rujevica(Our stadium).We won 2-0(Home),scorers were same as last match 1 goal Ivan Saponjic and 1 Muzafer Ejupi.Player of the match was Ivan Mocinic with 8 key passes.Third game was dissapointing win just 1-0 over Cibalia who is in 2nd league,and Ivan Saponjic scored in extra time 117 minute just to not take us to penalties.Fourth game was against Lokomotiva, 1-1 draw, they scored from a set-piece and had just 2 shoots and target while we had 7.Player of match was Ivan Saponjic who scored a beatifull goal.

I forgot to mention in July, Ivan Mocinic received player of the month award, Marin Tomasov goal of the month , and i manager of the month

As i skipped to the start of 10th month we got some awards, Ivan Saponjic player of the month, and i am manager of the month

First match was against Split we won 0-2(Away), player of the match and scorer of both goals was Anas Sharbini.Second match was a draw against Istra 0-0(Away), we got red card at the start of second half and than rest of the match was boring with just 2 shots on target.Third game was against Osijek where we won 2-0(Home), goalscorers were Marin Tomasov and Anas Sharbini, player of the match Anas Sharbini.Forth game biggest dissapointment of the month was against Inter Zapresic, the Croatian cup 3 rnd we lost 2-0(Away) while we were expected to get into final.They completely wrecked us just like first match in the league with possesion and shots on target, we didnt have 1 shot on target...

Dissapointing month because of the cup and draw but we still sit on first place in the league

First match was against Zagreb we won 2-1(Home) thanks to late goal from Ivan Saponjic, and one from Roman Bezjak¸, player of the match was young star right back Mihael Rebernik who's got great potential.Second match was Adriatic derby against Hajduk it ended us a 2-2(Away) draw, goalscorer was Roman Bezjak both times and he was player of the match.Third game was against Slaven Belupo again 2-2(Home) draw, goalscorers were Muzafer Ejupi and Marin Tomasov,player of the match Marin Tomasov.Forth match was against Inter Zapresic,3rd time of the season it ended as 0-0(Home) draw while we dominated with possesion and 8 shots on target while they had 1 but happy with how my tactic made some progress against them.Overall dissapointing month 3 draws out of four games,maybe will try to do some changes on tactics

First match was against Dinamo, our rivals we beat them 2-0(Away), goalscorer was Muzafer Ejupi and he was player of the match.Second match was against Lokomotiva which ended as 1-1(Home) draw,goalscorer was Muzafer Ejupi once again and player of the match was Marin Tomasov.Third match against Osijek ended as victory 0-1(Away), goalscorer was Roman Bezjak and player of the match Mate Males.


First half of the season

Just 2 looses which im very happy that we have so low number in 21 matches,we're currently sitting on top of the table with 4 points adventage over Inter Zapresic.Our tactic is working great we have best goaldifference and i like the number of shots on target and possesion.Our strikers have good stats just like midfielders average ratings while our left back isn't so good,and we will be looking to strenght that position at the end of season, other of the defence great.









He's already wanted by some big clubs and he's got great potential, very young player who's value will rise much more


Great player, soon will get increased potential i guess because he has been playing great for us,preety young since he's still got a lot to develop


His value rised from 210 k to 600 k,great player has all atributtes that we need for regista...


Like the coach report says key player to out squad, great roaming playmaker, young and his value will rise much more


Great box to box midfielder,not so young but has good value maybe i'll consider his sale at the end of the season


Our "first team striker" for now but only because he wants more first team football, even though Saponjic is scoring more than him he has got some very important goals


Our best striker,has scored a lot, developing great, worth all the money i paid him

Mocinic had a clause in his contract minimum release fee 3 milion and my board sold him...very dissapointed it will be hard to replace him even though i have very much midfielders he was class apart

New signings

Wonderkid who we have got for just 28.5 k euros,i heard he's valued at more than 1 milion after 1 season and he will be given enough game time


World-class wonderkid,who is joining us next season.I have got him for free,and im so excited to seeing him playing for us
