My players won't score! Help!

Im in my fourth season with portsmouth, and I'm currently in the premier league!
Everything is going well, except one thing. I can't score goals!
I am a manager who like to have possession, for one simple reason; If i have the ball, the opposition can't score. But even with 28 shots, 12 of the on target i do not score, i haven't scored in the last 9 matches, even tho I almost every match have over 60% possession, and at least 7 shots on target!

I admit, i do not have the best team in the league, probably a mid table team, but they're surely not suppose to be so useless infant of goal?

Do anyone have a solution to this, some tactical advice or something?
is this a known problem?

What formation do you typically line up with, mentality of the players etc. Also who are you looking to find the net?

Just starting in Prem with Pompey after 5 seasons. I`ll let you know how I get on, but I have to say throughout the last 3 seasons goal scoring has ben difficult. Seldom won any game by more than 1-0 despite any goal scorer I bought or got off a free.
Surprise surprise when some of the forwards I had were let go they scored hatfulls of goals elsewhere.
looks like its a program issue

I haven't had too many issues with goalscoring - to be honest I tend to forego possession in favour of quick countering and high pressing, utilising midfielders to recycle the play and nimble quick forwards to get behind the defence.

I occasionally get whooped in possession stats (Liverpool had 72% possession last time we played earlier in the week!) but with a tough combative ball winning DM and aggressive CBs you can usually restrict that possession to the middle third (in the same game I beat Liverpool 2-0).

It might be a programming issue as suggested but to be honest I haven't really had too many issues.
